The Global Gift Foundation on May 20, posted the picture. It went viral soon enough. However, the limelight is not for the reasons Sánchez likely hoped.
Though she’s never confirmed or denied plastic surgery rumors, fans and critics alike pointed out that the changes are super impossible to ignore. Her lips look plumped, her cheekbones unnaturally sharp, and her nose much more refined than in earlier images.
“Lauren Sanchez’s face is so tightly pulled back you can’t tell if it’s the G-Force or plastic surgery,” one X user wrote. “Women who knock down other women’s looks are petty. Do better,” clapped back another user.
Another user said her billionaire fiancé might be footing the beauty bill, “Lauren Sánchez got Bezos to pay for an 11-minute girls’ trip to space with five other women, and honestly, that probably still cost him less than all of her plastic surgery bills combined.”

Sánchez, for sure, dazzled in Cannes. However, some couldn’t help but compare her current appearance to throwback photos that tell a drastically different story. Sánchez was “completely unrecognizable” in a photo taken over 20 years ago. Her lips were thinner, her cheeks softer, and her look far more understated.
And even Sánchez herself gave a peek into the past. In an April 23, 2024 Instagram post, she posted a photo from her childhood. And, that one sparked more theories and speculation than nostalgia. “If it was possible to show her any of her modern photos back then, we couldn’t imagine the little girl depicted in the picture would ever have recognized her adult self,” a writer at The List noted.
