Lauren Sanchez, an American journalist, novelist, and philanthropist who rose to prominence as an entertainment reporter and news anchor and recently attracted attention at Donald Trump’s inauguration, is currently engaged to the founder of Amazon. Fans were unaware, though, that Sanchez formerly dated Tony Gonzalez, a legendary member of the Chiefs and one of the best tight ends in NFL history.
According to reports, the NFL player and Lauren split up in 2002, but they still had a kid named Nikko. In recent years, the ex-couple has been seen on many occasions together with their new companions, demonstrating their continued closeness.
When discussing their co-parenting approach, Lauren has maintained a close relationship with Tony and his new wife, October Gonzalez, and has even called him one of her “best friends.” The quartet, including Bezos, took a trip to Greece only last summer. Bezos is one of the wealthiest persons in the world and the founder, executive chairman, and former president and CEO of Amazon.
Bezos was previously connected to a Boston Celtics acquisition, but that deal never went through. With an estimated net worth of $251 billion, he is currently the second richest man in the world. On social media, fans expressed their surprise at Bezos and Gonzalez’s relationship. They also knew that Gonzalez is employed by Bezos’s company, Amazon, and that he covers the NFL with Charissa Thompson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth, and Richard Sherman on Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football.
One fan wrote, “Wild,” after learning of the connection. “No way,” said a second. The comment “And now Tony works for Bezos on Thursday Night Football” was made by another. A fourth person said, “Wait, no wait, tell me it isn’t true.”

The NFL’s all-time leader in receiving yards and catches by a tight end, Gonzalez concluded his career with 14 Pro Bowl nominations, the most for a tight end and the second-most in league history. He also finished third in overall receptions. Gonzalez is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Bezos and Sanchez sat next to Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan during Gonzalez’s induction into the Hall of Fame. But according to reports, Gonzalez was not approached by Bezos to accept the position of co-host for Prime Video’s coverage of Thursday Night Football.
Jeff Bezos’ affair with TV host Lauren Sanchez is reportedly what led to his divorce.

“No, I wish it was that way,” Gonzalez said. “He has nothing to do with that.” “Right from the beginning, I knew I wanted to do Thursday Night Football,” the 48-year-old said back in 2022 when he got an Amazon gig. “It was a chance to be part of something new. That’s the coolest part.” “I’m so glad to be part of something from the beginning, from the ground floor,” he added.
“You knew that once Amazon puts its fingerprints on it, it’s gonna be great.”
Earlier this season, teammate tight end Travis Kelce grabbed a 12-yard ball from quarterback Patrick Mahomes to take the top spot in the Chiefs’ all-time touchdown reception record books, ending Gonzalez’s dominance.
