It is now public knowledge that Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s bromance has ended. While signs of crack between their relationship was evident over the last few months, the final nail on the coffin was Musk’s exit from the Department of Government Efficiency that gave him so much power regarding matters of Trump’s governance.
However, when two men with such big egos as Trump and Musk collaborate, sooner or later their egos are bound to crash and that is what has happened with them. Trump has always needed the spotlight on him and Musk was also a man who enjoyed attention equally. The tech mogul made a bunch of drastic decisions while heading DOGE and then suddenly Trump announced that he would no longer be a part of his government.

The behind the scene actions that led up to the dispute is not very clear but it is quite certain that Trump’s advisors were not at all happy with Musk and thus his exit decision was quite a relief to them. Musk has rampantly slashed various federal government departments and Trump had happily obliged him by signing on his decisions, but only till a point.
Now that the two have decided to part their ways, the ugliness between them is coming to surface. Moreover, Musk spotting a black eye behind the Oval desk during his final press conference at The White House and Trump’s comments on it have further given the internet more material to talk about their feud and how things ended between them.

Talking about Musk’s black eye, Trump said in a video, “very happy when he stood behind the Oval desk. Even with a black eye.” His focus on his black eye seemed a little brutal but he continued, saying, “I said, ‘do you want a little makeup,’ He said, ‘No, I don’t think so,’ which is interesting.”
Given Trump’s own obsession with makeup and appearing all decked up in front of the camera, his offer to Musk makes sense. Trump probably cannot imagine showing his face to the camera with a bruise like Musk’s and thus he offered the help he himself uses. However, Musk might not have too much faith in Musk’s makeup collection or he might have been too agitated and heart broken to care about people seeing his bruises.
Whatever the reason might have been, Musk refusing help from Trump to cover up his face further shows how bitter their relationship has turned to. Talking about the same, Trump said in the video, “Look, Elon and I had a great relationship.” He then added, “I don’t know if we will anymore.”
Given how Musk has called Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill an abomination, further highlights the great turn that Musk has taken after getting out of Trump’s presidency. The Tesla owner had supported the bill himself when he was with the American President and had also splurged millions of dollars on various bills.

However, now that Musk is no longer a part of the government, he is changing his statements and that has naturally surprised Trump who cannot seem to understand why someone who wore a hat that said “Trump Was Right About Everything”, will now turn so against him.
