At the Senate Spouses Luncheon on May 21, Melania Trump appeared to mail it in, while Usha Vance wore a bold ensemble. At the occasion, which took place at the National Gallery of Art, the first lady spoke as the keynote speaker and stressed the value of encouraging young people. Later, the official FLOTUS account posted pictures from the luncheon to Instagram, showcasing her outfit for the event.
Trump wore an ivory woolen jacket by Dolce & Gabbana with a high-waisted pencil skirt by the same brand that fell just below her knees and included a rear slit. She wore a chocolate-colored designer blouse underneath the jacket, exposing the top’s cuffs at the sleeves, in keeping with the D&G theme.
Although there were some positive aspects to the ensemble, Trump’s ivory suit made her appear to blend in with the scenery, making it a pretty uninteresting option. The former model seemed to have picked up one of her many designer suits without much thinking. But Vance’s attire had a significant effect.
At the Senate Spouses Luncheon, the second lady pushed the boundaries with a cobalt blue dress by Badgley Mischka. In addition to its striking hue, Vance’s dress was an off-the-shoulder style that was tastefully draped over her body. Since the hue caught the attention of online fashionistas, it seemed like the ideal time to recycle the dress, which she had first worn during the 2024 Republican National Convention.
“She has such fabulous style and everything she wears looks beautiful and classy on her,” read one X user’s reaction to the outfit. “Good to stir it up,” another added. Vance has already outdone Trump in terms of style during a luncheon.
Second Lady Usha Vance was also in attendance for today’s Senate Spouses Luncheon which took place at the National Gallery of Art.

Usha Vance chose a more daringly colorful attire, while Melania Trump stayed safe in an ivory outfit at the 112th First Lady’s Luncheon on April 2. At the event, both ladies spoke, and Vance wore a bright pink dress with embroidery, mini-sleeves, and a bodice that fit her figure. In contrast, FLOTUS wore a pantsuit that concealed her body.
The first lady wore the identical outfit to the 2018 State of the Union Address, thus it was Christian Dior that recycled her appearance this time. She tried to liven up the ensemble for the First Lady’s Luncheon by donning a subdued pink top underneath the Dior jacket, but the pairing didn’t stand out against Vance’s vivid dress.

Trump’s reckless blazer error during the Take It Down Act signing event at the White House on May 19 with her husband was a far cry from her gorgeous ivory suit appearance. Trump’s gray Prada skirt suit didn’t look good on her. Although the jacket tightened at the middle, it was rather heavy and totally covered up her statuesque figure.
The Prada suit was so unattractive that you had to wonder if FLOTUS had even tried it on before wearing it to the White House. It was one of the few times she looked dowdy. Trump seemed to mail it in during her second tenure as first lady, and that was just another instance.
