One X (formerly Twitter) user claimed that the young girl’s features were way too similar to the Prince of Wales, such as her “dirty blonde hair and big teeth.” Although none of these speculations were officially addressed at that time, the public also felt the need to point out that Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Rose’s son, served as a page of honor at King Charles’s coronation in 2023.
The infidelity rumor solidified when Princess Catherine suddenly disappeared from the public eye, which would later be clarified as her suffering from cancer. Talk-show host Stephen Colbert added fuel to the fire when he made jokes about the alleged affair on air, which prompted Rose Hanbury to send a legal notice to him, firmly refuting the rumors.
