A Bristow man was recently found guilty of murdering his 5-year-old daughter a few years ago. The 34-year-old man took the life of his own daughter while claiming that she was “controlled by witchcraft.”
Here’s how the innocent 5-year-old suffered at the hands of her father before passing away.
Adam Mason was arrested in 2020 as the prime suspect in the murder of his 5-year-old daughter. On August 26 of the same year, authorities were prompted to do a welfare check on the girl after her mother called in.

The mother of the 5-year-old told the cops that Mason “would not let her speak with the child.” The toddler was reportedly staying with her father at the time. Officers who showed up for the welfare check found the toddler’s body buried at the scene.
Bone-chilling details were revealed upon further investigation related to the case. Mason, who was hiding in the woods near the house, was arrested by the cops. Court documents reveal how the father of the 5-year-old murdered her in a gruesome manner.
Mason reportedly punched her several times in the head before and then took her to a creek near their house. He went on to place a tire on the toddler and then burned her alive. The Oklahoma man then fled the scene and hid in the nearby woods.

The prosecution ordered that the man undergo a mental evaluation following the heinous crime he committed. In October 2020, the court deemed the man competent during a hearing.
On June 20, the 34-year-old was sentenced to life in prison in Indian Country. The man was charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson addressed the case and noted how Mason’s actions were “inhumane.”
“What Mason did to this 5-year-old little girl was inhumane. There will be no first dances for her. She will not have the opportunity to attend college or become a mother herself,” Johnson said.

The U.S. Attorney also acknowledged the efforts of the prosecutors and law enforcement who worked towards getting justice for the 5-year-old. Johnson notes labelled the case as a “hard-fought” one for everyone involved. “Life imprisonment shows the seriousness of this crime and ensures public safety,” he concluded.
Mason was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to the murder in January 2025. The man reportedly also has past convictions for rape. The 34-year-old has also failed to register as a sex offender.
