In a verdict that’s left everyone in Ohio’s Summit County utterly shocked, a 39-year-old woman named Kristina Jacobson got slapped with a life sentence without a chance of ever getting out, all because she raped a poor, defenseless baby. This all went down on June 26th after the jury didn’t take long to figure out she was guilty.

This was a two-week circus in an Ohio courthouse, with the prosecutors laying out the most harrowing evidence you could imagine, showing how this woman had the nerve to hurt an infant who couldn’t even say “no” or “help.”

And she was hit with four charges: first-degree rape, two counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, and gross sexual imposition.

The Ohio judge gave her life in jail, no parole.

Now, the big shot in charge of prosecuting, Elliot Kolkovich, had strong words about it. He called her actions “abhorrent” and said she totally abused the trust everyone puts in her to take care of kids. She took advantage of a baby who couldn’t fight back. “There is simply no excuse for this (…) crime, and I’m grateful my assistant prosecutors and the court have made that clear.”

Parallel Sentencing for Co-Defendant Husband in Ohio Case

Kristina is not the only Jacobson behind bars. Her husband, 45-year-old Scott Jacobson, pleaded guilty in August 2024 to multiple counts of rape, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and gross sexual imposition.

Scott’s plea bargain ended with him getting slapped with a life sentence without a chance of parole in November 2024.

He confessed to sexually assaulting two kids and had hoards of child porn all over his phones, computers, you name it.

Both Scott and his wife, Kristina, got tagged as Tier III sex offenders in Ohio, which is as bad as it gets. That means they’ve got to register for life and are under the tightest watch. The cops said their behavior was methodical.

They didn’t just do the dirty deeds themselves; they also made and spread those disgusting pictures around.

Community Shocked at Kristina Jacobson’s Crimes

Residents of Akron and neighboring communities were revulsed as news of the sentencing spread. Child advocates like those from Akron Children’s Advocacy Center praised the jury and the prosecutor’s office for maximum penalties.

Legal experts note that life without parole is reserved for the most egregious offenses.

Prosecutors noted that the evidence against the Jacobsons was overwhelming. Digital files, photographs, and medical reports supported the charges, while testimony from forensic experts helped establish the full scope of the abuse. The jury reportedly reached a unanimous guilty verdict on all four charges against Kristina Jacobson with little deliberation.

During sentencing, the courtroom remained somber. Kristina Jacobson offered no apology or statement. The judge cited the utter depravity of her actions in delivering the maximum sentence, stating that her crimes were against “an innocent child’s vulnerability.”

This case has made the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office focus on the importance of watching out for kids and reporting any abuse. Anyone who thinks a kid might be in trouble should tell local child services or the police.

Currently, both Kristina Jacobson and Scott Jacobson are behind bars.
