When not helping astronauts return from the International Space Station, Elon Musk is either making babies with different woman or taking care of Tesla. His life is a colorful one.
Furthermore, he is balancing 14 children and their moms in his personal life while still holding the title of richest man in the world, which makes us question if he is indeed as close to superhuman as anyone can get apart from the controversial, of course. However, it turns out that Elon Musk is just as limited as the rest of us.
He has been married to two different women and divorced three times. As he becomes more well-known for his business and political choices, people who are interested in him will want to hear his first wife’s perspective on what it’s actually like to be married to the billionaire.
The six children of Musk’s first wife, Justine Wilson, are Vivian Jenna, Griffin, Kai, Saxon, Damian, and Nevada Alexander, who died as a baby. They met while attending Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, and were married from 2000 to 2008. Musk was a sophomore at the time, and Wilson was a freshman.
However, their relationship soured as Musk’s demands as a busy businessman increased, and in 2010, Wilson revealed the details of the situation in an opinion piece headlined “Inside America’s Messiest Divorce” for Marie Claire.
When Musk casually declared, “I am the alpha in this relationship,” at their January 2000 wedding reception, it was one of the first warning signs she said she saw. She says she initially dismissed it, but eventually flaws emerged, especially when the CEO said to his ex-wife, “If you were my employee, I would fire you.” She did, however, mention one item about their marriage that “sucked” the most.

“I barely recognized myself,” she writes, claiming Musk was pushing her to adopt a typical Hollywood look. “I had turned into a trophy wife—and I sucked at it. I wasn’t detail-oriented enough to maintain a perfect house or be a perfect hostess. I could no longer hide my boredom when the men talked and the women smiled and listened.”
Wilson claims that a car accident that led to their final divorce made everything plain. She noted: “My first thought wasn’t, ‘Thank God nobody’s hurt’. It was, ‘My husband is going to kill me’. And in my mind’s eye, I could suddenly see myself: a woman who’d gotten very thin, and very blonde, stumbling out of a very expensive car with the front-left wheel smashed in.”

Musk started dating British actor Talulah Riley a few weeks after their divorce, and he has never discussed the piece in public. As they co-parent their five surviving children, it’s unclear if Wilson and Musk have been able to patch things up. However, the Tesla CEO has subsequently been involved in several public arguments with their transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson.
After splitting from Riley in 2012, Musk has never gotten married again (he’s too busy running a multinational corporation, after all), but he has had eight more children and stated his intention to address what he says is a falling birth rate in the US.
After Wilson’s well publicized, devastating memory, will we see Musk with another wife? It’s difficult to tell. But will there be more children? That’s the one we’ll wager on.
