Taylor Swift is a billionaire singer who needs no introduction at this point. While she enjoys her status as a pop icon, there’s also a downside to all the fame and publicity. While it’s true that the bigger the star, the greater the fan following, we get it! But what if the fan following turns creepy and gets you into major trouble?
The Love Story singer has taken legal action to protect herself amid escalating safety concerns, as the singer obtained a temporary restraining order on June 9 against Brian Jason Wagner, a Colorado resident who repeatedly intruded at her Los Angeles home and falsely claimed to be her romantic partner and that the singer is the mother of his child.
As per Marca, Wagner first appeared at Taylor Swift’s residence on July 9, 2024, and returned carrying a glass bottle in May. Swift stated that Wagner’s claims are “entirely untrue and disconnected from reality,” adding, “I have no relationship with Mr. Wagner and have never met or communicated with him.”
The outlet further revealed that Taylor Swift felt the “fear of imminent harm” in the legal filing. Authorities stated Wagner’s troubling pattern of conduct, which included attempting to list Swift’s home address on his driver’s license, redirecting her mail, and sending threatening emails to her staff.
For instance, according to more details in the legal filing, Wagner was carrying a glass bottle on at least one of the occasions in July 2024 “that could have been used as a weapon.” According to reports, Brian Jason Wagner has a criminal history, was jailed at one point, and wrote lengthy letters from his cell phone in which he made up stories about his involvement in her life and other lies.

In addition, one of Taylor Swift’s security guards, Alex Welch, revealed that Wagner’s new California driver’s license was mailed to her home to confirm the address, which made her team believe that the crazy stalker had claimed to live there.
The temporary restraining order, which bans the creepy stalker from harassing, stalking, assaulting, or disturbing Swift, as well as contacting or hovering within 100 yards of Swift, her home, her vehicle, and her workplace (via USA Today), was granted on Monday and will expire on June 30, 2025.
Taylor Swift took the bold step after Wagner’s repeated appearances at her residence did not stop; including showing up at her home in May 2025, stating he “was there checking on a friend (besides, this is completely untrue).” She claimed that it was also for her family’s safety.

This is not Taylor Swift’s first encounter with abrupt and scary stalkers. In recent years, she has faced multiple similar incidents, including arrests in New York and Germany involving men who tried to breach her security or gain access to her performances during her infamous Eras Tour shows.
A similar incident also occurred with ‘Friends’ actress Jennifer Aniston, where a mentally unstable stalker named Jimmy Wayne Carwyle began stalking her by sending heaps of voicemails, letters, and messages, and then driving his Chrysler PT Cruiser through the gate of her home in Los Angeles on May 5, 2025.
