Imagine having the guts to stalk megastar Jennifer Aniston and end up in jail. Yes, that’s exactly what happened to the Emmy winner. Friends star Jennifer Aniston’s alleged stalker, who made headlines after reportedly ramming his vehicle into the gates of her Bel Air mansion earlier this month, appeared in court in a suicide prevention vest, asserting he is capable of standing trial despite his wife indicating he believes he’s Jesus Christ and Jennifer Aniston was his destined queen.
Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, a 48-year-old Mississippi native, faced a mental health court in Hollywood around 9:40 a.m. on 22 May 2025, claiming not guilty to felony stalking and vandalism charges and also deemed to be capable of bodily harm. Carwyle appeared for the hearing as he stood behind a glass partition with messy grey hair and was wearing nothing but a blue vest.

As per The Sun, dressed only in a blue anti-suicide smock, Carwyle appeared behind a glass partition with messy hair and a blank expression. Even though a psychiatrist has declared that Carwyle is mentally unfit to go through the trial, the mechanic disagreed and requested a reevaluation by another doctor.
The stalking reportedly began on March 1, 2023, through repeated calls, emails, voicemails, and social media. He also referred to the actress as his “bride” in online posts. Aniston’s attorney, Blair Berk, was also present in the court during the hearing, but he refrained from addressing the court.

According to the outlet, authorities allegedly claimed that Carwyle drove a Chrysler PT Cruiser through the actress’s security gate on May 5, and a security guard held him at gunpoint until police arrived. Aniston was in her house at the time of the incident, but Carwyle did not come face-to-face with her.
His wife, Julia, told The Daily Mail that Jimmy Wayne Carwyle was so obsessed with the star that he would travel to Los Angeles with the intent of meeting the actress. She was also horrified after she saw pictures of her ex-husband during his first court hearing, as she could not recognize him at all.
“It doesn’t even look like him. He’s no longer there,” she said. Carwyle has a nominal criminal record and was not under investigation prior to the incident. A restraining order has since been issued, requiring him to stay at least 100 yards away from Jennifer Aniston and banning all contact. The next hearing will be on May 29. He will remain in police custody until then.
Meanwhile, as per The Mirror, Aniston took the bold decision to move away from LA amidst the stalker drama and prefers to be in her $15 million mansion in Montecito. “Jen is happy to have a safe place to run to where she can let her hair down,” a source told The Daily Mail.

“Though she loves Los Angeles because it is where she grew up, she is craving more of a country setting these days, away from the noise.” If convicted, the 48-year-old man will serve a sentence of up to three years in jail. He is currently being held on $150,000 bail.
