Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s upcoming wedding is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events of the year, and a new detail about the venue has taken many by surprise.
The Amazon founder and his fiancée, who got engaged two years ago, are reportedly planning to tie the knot this June in Italy. While earlier reports suggested the ceremony would take place aboard Bezos’s $500 million superyacht, new claims hint at an unexpected twist in the plans.

According to The U.S. Sun, the couple is rumored to have booked a historic open-air theater on a Venetian island for their wedding. “The word is that they have booked the theater which has been restored,” a source told the outlet. “It’s not your usual venue for a wedding, it would be iconic,” they added. “Everyone is talking about the wedding and it’s going to be a huge celebration.”
While the exact venue is unnamed, the publication claims dates have already been blocked out for two weeks around the expected ceremony window, between June 24 and June 26.
Still, the couple’s luxurious 416-foot yacht, on which they celebrated their engagement off Positano in 2023, may play a role in the festivities. A spokesperson for the mayor’s office told CNN that the vessel could be anchored in the Venetian lagoon during the celebrations.

The couple and their reported 200 guests are believed to have already secured rooms at some of Venice’s top-tier hotels. A start-studded guest-list is expected, including members of the Kardashian-Jenner family, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, and Karlie Kloss with husband Joshua Kushner.
President Donald Trump has also reportedly received an invite. Bezos, who was among the VIP attendees at Trump’s 2017 inauguration, is now said to be returning the gesture.
Lauren Sanchez has spoken publicly about her planning process, revealing she’s turned to social media for help. “I have to say, I do have a Pinterest—I’m just like every other bride, so I do have a Pinterest board,” she said during an appearance on the Today Show. She also admitted she was still undecided on her dress.
In a 2023 Vogue interview, Sanchez hinted the couple was considering a destination wedding but had yet to finalize any details. “We’re still thinking about the wedding. What it’s going to be, is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet,” she said at the time.
Bezos has also previously addressed speculation surrounding the event, most notably shutting down rumors that the couple would spend $600 million on a wedding in Aspen.
With just over a month to go, all signs suggest the celebration will be extravagant, and unconventional, just as expected from one of the world’s most high-profile couples.
