The wedding weekend saw Amazon slippers, pajama parties, creepy dolls, lashings of champagne, and so many costume changes you’d think it was a Met Gala afterparty. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez went all out for their three-day Venice extravaganza, because what else do you expect from one of the richest men on Earth?
The A-list guest list was glittering. Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, Queen Rania of Jordan, Usher, and Tom Brady all rubbed elbows with the newlyweds on the dance floor. Absent? Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Understandable, given the world’s most overinflated egos can’t fit in one Italian villa. Donald Trump was also M.I.A., possibly washing his hair that day.
But who needs a President when you have reality TV royalty to steal the show, appropriate attire be damned?
Because once again, Kylie Jenner did what she does best: hogged headlines without even trying (or trying a bit too hard). This time, though, it wasn’t the red carpet she was strutting, it was Sánchez and Bezos’ wedding, in a dress that was less “wedding guest chic” and more “look at me.” Rude Kylie, just rude.
Her skin-tight, flesh-baring Dilara Findikoglu metallic silver/white lace-up corset dress managed to break just about every rule in the wedding etiquette handbook, instantly cementing her place on the worst-dressed guest list. And making things even juicier? The multi-millionaire wasn’t even invited in the first place. You’d think, as an uninvited plus-one, she might at least try to fly under the radar.
Turns out Kylie wasn’t the only Kardashian-Jenner who originally didn’t make the cut.
As a source told Page Six, “Originally, the quintet was going to be a duo of just Kim [Kardashian] and Kris. But Mama Kris asked Lauren if she could bring the other three when they were in Paris for the bachelorette party,” adding that Sánchez is actually only close to Kris and Kim Kardashian. Still, what momager wants, momager gets. And what Kris apparently wanted was for her single daughters to scope out the billionaire dating pool.

Kylie’s attention-grabbing dress was made all the more glaring by the fact that, for once, the bride was uncharacteristically covered up. Lauren Sánchez, whose usual wardrobe philosophy is “the less fabric, the better,” surprised everyone with an ultra-conservative wedding gown. Her custom Dolce & Gabbana creation was floor-length with a too-tight neck collar and long sleeves.
Yet despite the alleged hanger-on Kardashian-Jenners, by all accounts the Bezos-Sánchez wedding—er, wedding weekend was a fairy tale come true. Sánchez even told Vogue she felt “like a princess” in her one-of-a-kind gown. Because nothing says “happily ever after” like a $50 million Venetian bash complete with late-night dancing, celebrity selfies, and one guest who somehow missed the memo on “don’t outshine the bride.”

And really, who needs Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, or even the President himself when you have the Kardashians in attendance? Especially when one turns up in a dress that will keep people talking long after the last champagne flute has been cleared.
