Isaiah Langkiet, a 24-year-old man from Kansas, has been accused of killing his grandmother. He allegedly killed his grandmother, Elvera, for criticising his method of doing the laundry, multiple news outlets stated, citing an affidavit. He hit the woman, 64, in the neck several times with a kitchen knife, stabbing her to death.

Per court records, Isaiah is facing charges of first-degree attempted murder, domestic battery, and violation of a protection order, a news report by Law & Crime stated.

The bizarre incident unfolded at their home after Elvera reportedly made a derogatory comment or two about the way her grandson does laundry, leading him to stab her in the neck. Isaiah Langkiet, during an interview with police, confessed that he had “gotten into an argument” with his grandmother about her “criticising the way he does his laundry.

An excerpt from the affidavit read, “Isaiah said this caused him to be angry, and he slapped Elvera on the face with an open palm. Isaiah admitted that while in the kitchen, he grabbed a brown handled kitchen knife from the countertop, which he said had a blade around 8 inches long, and stabbed Elvera in the neck area, and as she fell, he stabbed her again in the neck. After Elvera fell to the kitchen floor, Isaiah said he was ‘p—-d off’ and walked away from the residence and did not provide aid to her.”

Repeatedly asked what irked him to kill his grandmother, per the affidavit, Isaiah allegedly said that he was “tired” of her “b—ing at him.” Elvera Langkiet’s daughter also spoke to the Police, two days after the incident took place, and she said that this is what her mother told her about the stabbing, “That motherf—r tried to kill me.”

According to the Police’s statement, on August 30, around 9 pm, Isaiah Langkiet dialled 911 reporting an emergency. He mentioned to the officers of the Wichita Police Department during the call that he had “stabbed his grandmother.”

When the Police arrived at Isaiah’s Kansas residence at the 800 block of South Fern Road, they saw the alleged killer on the back porch, while the grandmother was inside the house. The Police immediately took him into custody.

Shedding light on the situation of the crime scene, the Police witnessed Elvera Langkiet bleeding heavily around the neck as she told the officers that she had been brutally stabbed in the upper torso area.

Injured Elvera was immediately rushed to the St. Francis Hospital for treatment, where she briefly informed the staff that her grandson, Isaiah, had stabbed her. She also told the medics that her grandson, Isaiah, “has demons” and that “something was wrong with him.”

Describing the extent of the injury initially as “near fatal,” the doctors at the hospital revealed that Elvera suffered two wounds from the stabbing – one on the neck and the other on the throat. Both the wounds, the medics specified, were about four inches deep.

Elvera died on September 3 after refusing to continue her medical treatment. The autopsy listed the manner of death as a homicide and the cause of death as “complications of stab wounds.”

In a shocking series of affairs, the grandson, at one point, allegedly told the authorities that he wanted “to go back to jail.

Meanwhile, a competency evaluation for Isaiah Langkiet, has been ordered by a district court judge. The evaluation is slated for Monday at the Community Care of Sedgwick County. Ahead of the proceedings continue, the facility has been instructed to report back to the court within 60 days.

According to the records of the facility, Isaiah Langkiet is currently at the Sedgwick County Jail, Kansas, on $500,000 bond. He is not facing any murder charges as of now.
