Whitney Decker wants her ex-husband, Travis Decker to be found “dead or alive”, as his search continues for the fourth week. 32-year-old Travis has been wanted since June 2 when his three daughters were found dead near his truck.

The asphyxiated bodies of Paityn Decker (9), Evelyn Decker (8) and Olivia Decker (5) were found three days after Travis failed to return the girls to their mother after his scheduled visitation on May 30. Whitney tried reaching her ex-husband and failed, which caused her to worry. She eventually contacted Wenatchee Police Department and reported that her three daughters were missing along with their father.

During an extensive search which continued for three days, the girls were found “with plastic bags over their heads and at least one with zip ties around her wrists — near Travis’s abandoned pickup truck at the remote Rock Island Campground. A medical examiner determined they had died of asphyxiation,” as PEOPLE reported. However, Travis was nowhere to be found, which made authorities speculate that he had indeed killed his three daughters.

Travis is a military veteran struggling with some mental health issues. He is also homeless and was living out of a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck near which the dead bodies were found.

So far, there has been no substantial lead about his whereabouts as the authorities have been searching in the mountains of Washington state. Authorities are also not ruling out the possibility that he might be dead.

Kittitas County Sheriff has said in a recent social media post, “At this time, there is no certain evidence that Decker remains alive or in this area.”

The authorities also announced that some sources are “being redirected to find and recover Decker if he died in the rugged wilderness during this intense search—a possibility that increases every day.”

Resources are also being put to task to locate him in case he has already left the area. Reportedly, Travis might have used his survival skills that he learned as a soldier to stay hidden in the wilderness.

The grieving mother wants to change the way Amber Alerts are issued to avoid future tragedies, as told by her attorney Arianna Cozart. She also wants to preserve services for veterans like her ex-husband who suffer from mental issues, as per News Nation.

Whitney is looking for closure to the manhunt for her ex-husband. She wants him found, whether dead or alive, tells her attorney.

“Either way, it’s hard. She knows that if he is found alive, he’ll never be able to answer the questions that she might have to a point where it would give her any peace,” Cozart adds.

Recently, the devastated mother gathered courage to speak about her loss during the memorial service held in Wenatchee, Washington. In a deeply moving tribute, she said, “I’m so thankful for that time I had with them.”

“I truly hope that the legacy of the girls’ lives lives on in everyone’s heart forever. They were incredible,”  Whitney further said, as per People
