32-year-old father, Travis Decker, is accused of killing his three daughters, Olivia, Paityn, and Evelyn. He has army training and is on the run. The mom of three daughters is grieving and is constantly wondering where he is. The three girls were found dead on June 2. Their bodies were found with wrists zip-tied at the Rock Island campground.
He was supposed to bring girls home, as reported on Friday. Their mother’s suspicion arose when he did not return with them. The authorities tried to find the kids but located the father’s abandoned truck near the campground. This region is 20 miles from Wenatchee in the northwest direction.
The bodies were discovered just 100 yards away from the truck. The cause of death is asphyxiation, as the girls were found suffocated to death. The mother of three is devastated and asking for amber alert reforms. According to her, the deaths of her kids could have been avoided if authorities had helped in time. She is hoping for changes in the alert system so no more such cases happen.

Travis Decken’s mental health was not in good shape. According to Whitney’s lawyer, Arianna Cozart, the amber alert should have been issued keeping in view his mental conditions. This tragedy could have been avoided. The state police did not release the alert but filed an endangered missing person alert.
The attorney emphasizes how it could have made a difference in the case, but we’ll never find out now. Whitney and Travis got divorced in 2022. Considering Travis’ mental health, people are questioning his visitation rights. Moreover, Whitney had already filed a neglect complaint in 2024. This could have been an ample reason for the authorities to take the case seriously.
The mom of three believes Travis has intensive mental trauma, which led him to kill his daughters. She says something broke inside him as he had kept things bottled up that might have come out during that moment, reports Irish Star. The authorities have asked people to call 911 if they spot the suspect. But they have released a warning to stay away from him for their own safety. He is a former army-trained soldier. He has been on the run and can survive in the wild.

The Chelan County Sheriff found the truck. The agency was working with the US marshals to locate Decker. There was also a $20,000 reward for people who could give information leading to Travis’ arrest.
The authorities are defending not releasing an amber alert by saying they had no reason to believe it was an abduction. Father had the custodial rights, so the alert was released, keeping that into consideration. They do feel sorry for the loss of three children. Lastly, they stated the system is constantly updating, and they’ll see where it can be improved after this crime.
