Donald Trump’s birthday is coming up in a few days, and as per his plans, he is finally going to get a military parade on his 79th birthday. Since the Army’s celebration of 250 years falls on the same day as his birthday, Trump is going ahead with a big show including tanks, planes and other military vehicles, without really caring about the negative impact that such a large-scale celebration might have on the transportation and other aspects of Washington, DC, where the events will take place.
Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump said that it will be an “amazing day” with a number of “”tanks … planes … all sorts of things” on display. While he described how things would be on his birthday, he also had a message for anyone who might want to protest at this blatant display of power.

Trump said, “We’re going big on Saturday — and if there’s any protester who wants to come out, they will be met with very big force.” He further added, “I haven’t even heard about a protest. But, you know, this is people that hate our country, and they will be met with very heavy force.”
Trump here seemed to have forgotten that peaceful protests also happen and protesting is a right that is validated by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. It says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Therefore, peaceful protests should not be calling for the kind of violence that Trump hinted at with his words. Netizens were quick to notice what Trump said and came forward with opinions that were completely different from him. One user posted on X, “I’ve already said this but the people will stand up for what’s right and they will be protesting there Saturday.”
They further added, “It will be peaceful until they decide to use ‘heavy force’ – what a psycho. The president of the United States constantly threatening the American people. I’ve never seen anything like this.”
What if you gave a parade and nobody came. Is it still a parade?

It means that there are already plans of protests in place, which Trump clearly does not know as he himself acknowledged. However, if these protests remain peaceful, there comes no reason to attack them as they would be exercising their democratic rights.
Another user seemed to be concerned about the confirmation that might happen if the MAGA supporters turn up to defend the President, which is very likely. The user posted on X, “I imagine there’ll be plenty of MAGA there defending their leader, too. Could be a very, very ugly day. But Trump’s been leading the country towards this confrontation for a long time.”
Preparations for the celebration are going on in full force as The Irish Star reports, “the Secret Service installed over 18 miles of “anti-scale fencing” and deployed “multiple drones” despite the city’s usual no-fly zone status for such devices.”
With such a big scale display of the military on the birthday of the American President, it now remains to be seen if things go smoothly or if Trump indeed ends up harassing the protestors in case the protests happen.
