A big week for Swifties as Taylor Swift released her new talk album The Life of a Showgirl. One of her songs, Opalite, a love song for her fiancé, Travis Kelce, is a diss track too for his ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.

Beyond the shade, it’s a sweet track about her fiancé, Travis, and how none of his past romances really worked out. The fans are having a field day decoding the lyrics as they always do. Taylor Swift is famous for outing her fans to work with easter eggs and coded lyrics like it’s a treasure hunt. The song Opalite starts with her doubts about Kelce’s past relationships with lyrics, “I thought my house was haunted.”

It further continues with, “When you know, you know.”You couldn’t understand why you felt alone. You were in it for real; she was on her phone. And you were just in a pose.” The diss track does not even try to hide behind vague lyrics as Taylor is directly pointing out the flawed dynamics between the two. X users have been posting about the song with their own explanations.

One of them posted, “TAYLOR SWIFT JUST CALLED KAYLA NICOLE TF OUT IM LIVING FOR TS12. another one added, “I was wondering if she would bring her up but I didn’t think it’d be so damn obvious lol.”

People did not know if Swift had issues with Kelce’s ex or if she’d have such obvious lyrics in her song, but nevertheless, they are enjoying it. Some users pointed out that it was unnecessary, one wrote, “Come on now, stop. Taylor would never make Kayla that relevant; they literally have zero beef. This narrative has to stop.” However, Nicole did send some messages to Swifties to leave her alone. Nobody wants to be on the wrong side when it comes to Swifties. Turns out, Nicole may not have been thrilled by the song.

But according to the reports, it’s Travis Kelce‘s favorite one on the album. On his podcast with his brother, he did say, “I’m not a politician, Jason […] ‘Opalite’ may be my favorite.” His brother tried to get more information about the song during the podcast, but now that it’s out, it does make sense.

On the other hand, his ‘politician’ comments do not quite add up in case he meant something cryptic or was trying to be diplomatic. We all know Travis had more than one ex, so it’s possible the song could be aimed at someone else. For now, everyone is dissecting the song and concluding whether it’s Nicole.

Taylor Swift revealed on the podcast that the lyrics reflect where she was mentally and emotionally when she wrote them. So the songs align with the character she created during the songs.
