On Sunday, June 22, US forces struck three nuclear sites in Iran, which has stirred massive debate around the world, and within MAGA. Trump’s violent actions have reportedly caused a divide within his own inner circle. Amid the growing tension, Vice President JD Vance made it clear that he whole-heatedly supports Trump’s vision when it comes to the Iran-Israel conflict.
Vance recently appeared on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ where he defended US strikes on Iran while adding that he could “certainly empathize with Americans who are exhausted after 25 years of foreign entanglements in the Middle East.”
He added, “I understand the concern, but the difference is that back then we had dumb presidents. And now we have a president who actually knows how to accomplish America’s national security objectives.”
Interestingly, the 25 years Vance has mentioned were under “dumb” presidents included Trump’s first term. While Vance meant to criticize previous presidents (Barack Obama, Joe Biden and George W. Bush), he probably forgot that Donald Trump also ran the country from 2017 to 2021.
Vance then added that the US action against Iran wouldn’t be “some long, drawn-out thing.” He told the press, “We’ve got in, we’ve done the job of setting their nuclear program back.”
However, moments later he appeared to contradict his own statement as he said, “We’re going to now work to permanently dismantle that nuclear program over the coming years, and that is what the president has set out to do.”
Now Vance is getting mocked for each of his statements. He is being called out for mistakenly mocking Trump. An X user reminded him, “BREAKING: Trump was president for four years during that time Vance is talking about.”
Writing a similar comment, an X user mentioned, “Donald was one of them. Now he is again.”

Someone pointed out Trump and Vance’s habit of calling their predecessors as ‘dumb’ always and every time. An X user tweeted, “It has become completely normal for Trump and Vance to refer to their predecessors as stupid and dumb. Doing it once would have been scandalously uncouth in any other administration. Yet another subtle sign of America’s decline.”

Another added, “Dumb presidents? The current president thinks windmills cause cancer and can’t spell parade correctly but go off couch boi.”

“If we’re calling “then” presidents dumb, what are we calling this one?” reads another comment.

People also quickly called out Vance’s contradictory statements about the administration’s plan against Iran.
Vance: It’s not gonna be some long drawn out thing
Vance 5 seconds later: And we’re going to continue dismantling it over the coming years

Whether Vance knowingly called the presidents in last 25 years ‘dumb’, or it was a cunning move, we’ll probably never know. But the netizens surely got another reason to mock Trump and Vance. We aren’t sure if Americans are happy with the current administration, but it’s evident that they don’t disappoint when it comes to feeding some meme-worthy material.
