News about P Diddy Combs being found guilty on grounds of s– t———- quite literally shook the world. The fallen rapper faces mounting evidence against him in the case, so much so that he has been flagged with four years of rigorous imprisonment behind bars. Diddy Combs has two convictions for transportation to engage in prostitution to his name, and has ever since been pronounced guilty of conducting disgusting, shameful, and sick misdeeds by the judge.
And now, nearly a year after his arrest, the latest trial of the case saw him take center stage inside the courtroom when he took to the mic himself.
For the unversed, Diddy has continually maintained his stance of not guilty to all charges pressed against him, and has repeatedly assured his innocence in the entire matter. In fact, he wishes to refute all allegations of misconduct in his name, even those thrown at him during civil litigation. As per a Mirror US report, Combs read out a letter in front of everyone inside the courtroom, where he proclaimed, “I want to thank you for giving me the chance to speak up for myself finally”.
Moving further, P Diddy Combs issued an apology for the first time to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, while he admitted his mistakes and reflected on how things did not go as expected. His words can be quoted as “One of the hardest things I’ve had to handle is having to be quiet and not being able to express how sorry I am for my actions. I want to personally apologize again to Cassie Ventura for any harm or hurt that I’ve caused her, emotionally or physically. I don’t take that lightly. I would like to apologize to her family. I’m so sorry.”
Besides Cassie, Diddy also issued an apology to all the women embroiled in the case, and in extension addressed all women around the world suffering from domestic violence. At the same time, he referred to the 2016 surveillance footage showing him beating Cassie. He mentioned, “I would like to apologize to Jane. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m sorry I brought you into my mess. Also, I want to personally apologize to all the victims of domestic violence because I know that video, that disgusting, despicable video, triggered a lot of people around the world.”
The rapper also opened up about his guilt, highlighting that he feels broken inside at the moment just by looking back at all he’s done so far. Requesting a second chance at bettering himself, Diddy mentioned, “I have been humbled and broken to my core. I hate myself right now. I’ve been stripped down to nothing,” pleading, “I have changed for the better. I can’t change the past, but I can change the future. I ask your honor for mercy. I beg your honor for mercy.”
P Diddy Combs was taken into custody in September 2024 after a grand jury indictment. By that time, multiple lawsuits were filed against him, including one from his ex, Cassie. Initially, her assault accusations were refuted by the singer at first, and thereafter, resolved within 24 hours without any guilt.
