Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently undergoing trial which began earlier in May. Judge Arun Subramanian has been appointed for his case and Diddy’s comments to the judge showed the kind of audacious attitude he has. While Diddy’s trial has not been televised, there were live updates about the same and that is how his comments to the judge made it out of the courtroom.
When Diddy was asked about how he felt about not taking the stand for his own defense, he said, “I’m doing great, your honor.” This in itself was quite an unusual response as not many people would say something like this when they are under trial. However, Diddy did not stop at this, as per CNN, and proceeded to say, “I’ve been wanting to tell you thank you. You’re doing an excellent job.”

This comment naturally grabbed the attention of netizens’ who were all amused at the audacity of the man. One X user commented, “Imagine a defendant telling the judge what a good job they’re doing. Smh!” Another one offered a more critical comment, saying, “It’s not confidence, it’s control. Abusers often charm authority while survivors are left managing the wreckage in silence.” One person added, “The manipulation and the sheer ego.”
Another one said, “He’s really trying to grease that judge up isn’t he?” Diddy might be under the impression that the judge took his compliment well since he thanked him and moved on, coupled with a laugh as CNN reported. However, Diddy had previously tried to talk to the jurors for which he was reprimanded as the act could have led him to being banned from the courtroom.
Clearly, Diddy did not learn anything from that as he went ahead with complementing the judge, which fortunately for him did not bring any instant repercussions. It should be noted here that not only did Diddy testify but also no witnesses for the defense were called to the stand.
While Diddy’s legal team might have thought that his silence would help them to prove his innocence, it might cause other problems as the judge and jurors might end up having unanswered questions. The prosecution presented 34 witnesses, including Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and half a dozen of Diddy’s former assistants.

The charges against Diddy include sexual and domestic abuse, and his five charges consist of racketeering and s-x trafficking and the rapper has maintained his innocence regarding all of the charges. If he is found guilty, the sentence might send him behind the bars for life.
