Lauren Sánchez hasn’t forgotten her roots even ahead of her lavish wedding. She took to Instagram to wish her father for Father’s Day with a throwback picture that was evidence of her humble beginnings.
The photos that Lauren posted to her Instagram story showed her posing with her father, Ray Sánchez. The father-daughter duo were seen smiling sweetly as they stood in front of her childhood home. The other snap featured both of the journalist’s parents from when they were young.
“Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there, especially you,” she wrote along with the picture. Lauren went on to thank her father for bringing “strength, love, and laughter” into her family’s lives. “Grateful today and every day,” she concluded.
The photos were the perfect depiction of the journalists’ humble upbringing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lauren first attended El Camino College and then went on to study at the University of Southern California. KCOP-TV was the first place where the now successful journalist first interned.
She then started at Extra as a special correspondent and then worked her way up to where she is now. The 55-year-old made a name for herself in the industry and even came to be known as an Emmy Award-winning journalist.
Apart from her affluential career, the journalist is known for her association with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. The couple who are gearing up to get married soon originally met in 2016. They went public with their relationship in 2019 and got engaged in 2023.
The wedding is scheduled to take place this month in Venice. Details about the venue and ceremony have been kept confidential, with several rumors floating around. There has been speculation about the wedding ceremony possibly taking place on the Amazon CEO’s yacht, Koru. The super yacht, which reportedly costs $500 million, is the largest sailing yacht in the world.

Sánchez has previously opened up about the wedding planning while refraining from giving out too much away. While appearing on the Today Show, she shared that she relied on the practice of making a Pinterest board to gather information for her wedding planning. She also spoke about how difficult it was to decide on the dress for the ceremony.
Lauren also noted how excited she is for her new life and is eager to see what life has in store for her. “I never thought at 54 – I’m going to be 55 – that I’d be an author, that I’d be getting married,” she shared. The now 55-year-old noted how “life is just beginning” for her.
The nuptials were rumored to cost $600 million before Bezos came out to squash the speculation. If Sánchez’s engagement ring is any indication, the couple surely won’t be holding back on spending for their big day.
The diamond on the four-prong platinum setting ring is reported to be 30 carats. According to People, the ring is estimated to cost between $3 million to $5 million. Lauren has also previously spoken about her eagerness to be Mrs. Bezos in an interview with Vogue at the beginning of the year.
