The Royal Family always comes up with something new, and this time, it is about Prince Harry offering a glimpse into his early expression on seeing his future sister-in-law Kate Middleton at the time of recounting their initial interactions in his memoir, Spare.
The book was released back in 2023, giving detailed information during the time when Prince William himself insisted his brother Prince Harry attend a fancy-dress birthday party, which was of a sort of cringy theme – “Natives and colonials”.
Prince Harry even admitted before that he isn’t much fond of fancy-dress parties, and especially those having themes, and was also not much enthusiastic about the party either.
However, Kate Middleton, who was the new girlfriend of Prince William back then, helped both brothers find favorable outfits.
As per the book, when Harry meets Kate for the first time, he gets a positive vibe. According to Harry, he “liked his new girlfriend”.
Describing her in three words, the Duke added, “She was carefree, sweet, kind.” Prince Harry further talked about her personality, and there’s also a fact that she’d done a gap year in Florence and also possessed an interest in multiple fields, including art, photography, and clothes.
The dad of both the prince also reflected on making Kate Middleton laugh and the connection he experienced with her “heavily disguised silly side”.
Talking more about the relationship between Harry and Kate Middleton, the Prince of Wales delved deep and recalled the royal wedding of his sister-in-law with his brother, Prince William, and reflecting on the love he has for Kate and how much he is blessed to have a sister he primarily never had and always wanted.
He also said that he was pleased with the fact that she’s gonna stay with Prince William, forever, and what a good match she has been for his brother.
However, the close relationship among the brothers isn’t something visible now, which has happened since Prince Harry moved to California with his family, and the close bond seems to have fractured. Over the last few years, the Sussexes have aired some allegations and expressed their grievances against the monarchy and Prince Harry’s family members.
The breakdown between the two brothers can specifically be traced since the early period of Harry’s relationship with his wife Meghan, when his then fiancée had a falling out with the Princess of Wales in the run-up to the Sussexes’ wedding.
Meghan, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, described how Kate Middleton was responsible for making her cry ahead of her wedding, which is just the opposite of the reports before the wedding of the Sussexes, which reflects on Meghan making Kate cry at Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress fitting.
