JD Vance theory on Iran's Uranium

JD Vance may have an applicable theory on where Iran’s Uranium is despite the satellite imagery of Iran moving it days before the attack. After the US strike on Iran, the Trump administration is being questioned on the whereabouts of Iran’s Uranium stockpile.

President Donald Trump decided to join Israel in the Iraq-Israel conflict. They were able to strike three nuclear sites in Tehran using B-2 stealth bombers. Trump posted how the nuclear sites were fully obliterated. He claimed there had been monumental damage to the nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, leaving Iran helpless.

However, 400 kilos (880 pounds) of Uranium enriched to 60% is missing, and nobody knows about its location. The Uranium needed for nuclear weapons is 92%, and Iran still does not have that; however, it can be used for other purposes. When asked about the whereabouts of the Uranium, JD Vance has a theory.

He states the US’ goal was to bury the Uranium, and he thinks they were successful in doing so. They were able to eliminate Iran’s ability to use Uranium in the weapons.

Vance told Fox News, “Our goal was to bury the uranium, and I do think the uranium is buried, but our goal was to eliminate the enrichment and eliminate their ability to convert that enriched fuel into a nuclear weapon.”

Trump and the administration may be proud of what they are able to accomplish; however, Harley Lippman, Middle East foreign policy minister, claims Iran may have successfully hidden the Uranium with allies. Russia, North Korea, and China may even help them reconstruct their nuclear program.

Even an American nuclear expert said the US failed to target Iran’s significant nuclear structure and production houses. Iran stores their Uranium in underground tunnels, according to Jeffery Lewis, and he’s unimpressed with no efforts made to destroy it by the US.

Coming to JD Vance’s claims, UN’s nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi claims no one knows the extent of damage that the US did to the underground facility in Fordo. The Trump administration is confident about the location, but Grossi has asked for inspection to ensure the stockpile location.

There are indications of movement from the satellite data and images of the Fordo location. Sixteen cargo trucks were on the road near the complex before the attack. In the images, the next day, the trucks moved to a different location, suggesting that huge cargo had been moved. This must have been Tehran’s precautionary measures to avoid further damage to their nuclear programs by protecting the material as well as equipment. According to Annika Ganzeveld, Iran acted swiftly to avoid a potential attack after the Israeli air attacks started.

Despite the damage and attacks to Iran’s nuclear facilities, they are confident they’ll be able to achieve nuclear weapons soon. Ali Shamkhani stated the game isn’t over. He is the military and nuclear adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, suggesting their knowledge and enriched materials are still safe. So, Vance’s theory may not be accurate; it is just his speculation.
