Karoline Leavitt blasted CNN

To say that Karoline Leavitt was fuming on her recent Fox News appearance would be an understatement. The atmosphere was highly tense and emotionally heated. During her appearance, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed several media outlets. She particularly went after CNN. She called CNN reporting over President Trump’s recent missile strikes against Iran “blatant lies”.

There was an intelligence leak from the government’s side on which there was extensive reporting by several news media outlets. Fox News did not report on those leaks. Those leaked reports had questioned the efficiency of the strikes by the US military as there was little to no damage done to nuclear sites in Iran.

According to the Defense Intelligence Agency leak, the strikes may have only briefly slowed Iran’s nuclear program. It also claimed the missiles have spectacularly failed to destroy crucial underground facilities.

On her appearance on Fox News, Karoline Leavitt passionately defended the administration’s decision to bomb the sites and claimed them to be successful despite what “left wing media” was reporting.

Leavitt called the bombing operation a “flawless mission.” She also claimed that Trump’s administration had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capability. “Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000-pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration,” she told the audience.

Leavitt then went on to accuse CNN and other mainstream media sources. She accused them of promoting a “recycled anti-Trump narrative” and claimed that it undermines the President’s authority and successes. She also said that the recent information leak was the product of a “low-level loser” in the defense community.

Leavitt specifically targeted a CNN reporter during her segment. She also compared the coverage of Iran strikes to Hunter Biden‘s laptop case. She suggested that this trend of “leaked lies” was not a coincidence. But called them a larger attempt to damage the Trump administration before the 2026 midterm elections.

Leavitt’s confrontational tone then caused a firestorm of responses on social media and political circles. Trump supporters applauded her for her loyalty toward Trump and for standing her ground.

Others however found her outburst very dramatic and theatrical. It also caused hashtags like #YellingKaroline and #LeavittMeltdown to trend on X. It also prompted users to ask if it was acceptable behaviour by White House staff against a little push back or reporting against the white house. Especially when white house and the cabinet spews hateful rhetoric on a daily basis.

However, there were some other interesting observations, too. Some said that there is too much pressure inside the Trump administration, and Karoline Leavit’s outburst was a result of that.
There were long-term concerns about the bombing of Iran unprovoked without consulting legislatures and our allies. The concern of backlash on the global platform is not the optics Donald Trump would have wanted.

“It was less a press secretary defending policy and more a surrogate venting frustration,” one political expert pointed out.

However, Karoline Leavitt has gotten considerable support from senior Trump officials and hardcore fans. She is being regarded as a fierce fighter for the President’s objectives. “She’s not just a spokesperson—she’s a warrior,” stated an anonymous White House official.

However, there are whispers of unhappiness among conservative media and GOP members. They worry that Leavitt’s confrontational tone could alienate moderate voters and take attention away from successful Trump policies.
