Many of us have a dream from childhood to buy all the scratch cards with the strategy of one card, which will definitely favor luck, and we will win an incredible prize. However, it is no longer a dream for a fella who just went all in and shelled out for tons of scratch cards during his Ryanair flight and became simply devastated by the result.
The person’s name is reportedly Ethan, who went viral on TikTok for his wild gamble to buy every scratch card onboard because of his curiosity about chances. However, things didn’t go as Ethan would have expected.
Viktok, on Tiktok, shared this experience of his friend, and he dropped jaws with an online travel vlog reflecting on the fact that Ethan was very intense about buying all those cards, and fellow flyers also came to help scratch away.
Viktok narrates while being sidetracked by a sea of scratch cards – “We are here on Ryanair, and this man Ethan has bought every single scratch card on the flight. I’ve opened about 100 scratch cards, I’ve been opening these one at a time.”
He continued saying – “We have not won a single thing. We have won nothing – no one has won anything. I’ll keep you guys posted.” The saga further continued as the lads disclosed Ethan bought a whopping 68 packs. However, luck had some other plan that day. They also got some help from the passengers, but still, success was nowhere in sight, and they eventually cried out, saying – “No one won anything.” Vik ranted in disbelief: “You’re supposed to match three – I can’t even match two. We’ve lost again.”
Vik and Behz thought they’d cracked the code.
Mid-Ryanair flight, they asked the question everyone secretly has: “Do people actually win these scratch cards?” So Ethan bought the lot. Every single one the crew would sell. Dozens. Maybe a hundred.

In some fancy words, it can be stated that they were simply gobsmacked. Thousands of views have engrossed the video since it was released, and it was evident from the comments that hit the post that it has staggered the viewers equally.
One individual commented: “100% they won’t allow mass buying on the flight again, lol.”
Another claim: “I am cabin crew for Ryanair, and there is so much more that you don’t know. They can’t sell you that many. There is a limit spent per passenger. Cabin crew in trouble!” A third person chimed in: “I wonder how many people have ever won money on those.”
Meanwhile, another commenter shared his experience, saying – “I remember winning like £26 (approximately €30) of onboard vouchers. When asking to buy something, I heard the cabin crew say, ‘Someone’s actually won.’ That’s how slim your odds are.”
However, it wasn’t the first time that the ‘scam’ word was engaged with the scratch cards of Ryanair as it also faced backlash years ago when it was disclosed that the winners of the jackpot subsequently entered into a separate draw with €1 million prize on the line. And then, a report in 2016 revealed that the so-called “lucky” winner would then be ushered into a room with 125 envelopes from which they must choose, among which only one envelop has that grand prize.
