Americans can now expect to receive a check of up to $967 every month. The individuals are expected to be registered and eligible for the SSI program to receive this payment. The check is crucial to the three groups of people who are eligible to receive it. Here’s everything you need to know about the payment and whether you qualify for it.
The first criterion for eligibility to receive the payment is that you need to be registered under the SSI program. The Supplemental Security Income program provides extra help for people in three groups.
The first group is people over 65 years of age. The second is people with disabilities. The third group is people known as the “essential persons.” The program mainly aims to aid people with limited resources and people with disabilities.
Some children may also qualify to receive this check. What sets the SSI apart is the fact that it does not require beneficiaries to have a previous work history to be able to redeem it. When it comes to Social Security retirement or disability insurance, on the other hand, that is considered a criterion.

People who are above the age of 65 years can expect to receive this payment as long as they are a part of the SSI program. An individual who has a disability that renders them unable to work also qualifies for the payment.
You must also be a legal citizen or a resident of the United States of America to qualify for this payment. You must also possess limited resources and income to receive the payment. The threshold is set at $2,000 for an individual and $3,000 for couples.
