One of the most haunting experiences of Kim Kardashian‘s life was when she was robbed at a hotel in Paris. On the night of Oct 6, 2016, five men broke into her hotel room, tied up her feet and hands and even gagged her before putting her in the bathtub and stealing millions of dollars worth of jewelry from her belongings.
The incident was a wake-up call for Kim to enhance her security and spend millions every year to ensure that she doesn’t have to go through such a haunting experience again. And when we say she is very serious about the security protocols now, we aren’t talking about the average security that a celebrity generally prefers. We are talking about presidential-level security.

Kim Kardashian’s tight security now includes “armored transport, multiple decoys, advance reconnaissance teams, and vetting of all staff and locations” which costs around $12 million a year, reports Radar Online.
The report mentions that Kim doesn’t travel anywhere without her full team now, which includes former intelligence officers and ex-military personnel.
Kim Kardashian, along with her sisters Kourtney and Kendall, were guarded by her lone bodyguard when the masked men robbed her of nearly $10million in jewelry.

“She was completely exposed. No real plan, no backup, no secured perimeter – she was a sitting duck,” said a former security consultant. But now, Kim has “built a fortress around her life. After what happened, there was no way she was ever going to allow that kind of vulnerability again. It completely changed the game,” a source told Radar Online.
It is reported that the Snapchat activities of the influencer played a big role in the heist, as the gang was able to track her movements and knew exactly what to steal. One of her posts included a picture from inside the hotel in which she flaunted her diamond ring worth $4 million hours before the attack.
“You’re dealing with someone whose every step is shadowed online. If that’s not locked down, it becomes a risk profile,” Security Expert Simon Morgan was quoted by the portal in its exclusive report. Kim learned the lesson the hard way, but now, she is very careful when it comes to personal security.

If the sources are to be believed, even Kim’s close friends have to go through security checks before they are allowed to go near the diva. An insider said, “There’s a rulebook now. And if you’re not following it, you’re not getting in.”
Her increased security measures reflect that Kim has still not been able to overcome the trauma of the 2016 heist. During an old interview, Kim recalled the night of the heist, including the moment when the robbers had a gun on her.
“Then they had the gun up to me and I just knew that was the moment they are just totally going to shoot me in the head. I just prayed Kourtney was going to have a normal life after she sees my dead body on the bed,” the star said.
The trial of the 10 suspects in the Paris robbery case began in the last week of April and concluded last week. Eight out of the ten accused were found guilty while the two were acquitted by court.
Kim visited Paris earlier this month to attend the trial and take a stand. For her appearance at Palais de Justice she opted for a full glam look as she carried diamonds and confidence in style.
“It’s something I’ve had to live with every day. But I’m not going to live in fear,” she stated.
