When it comes to royal gossip, Catherine, Princess of Wales, is no stranger to being in the headlines. Whether it’s the endless speculation over her equation with Meghan Markle or the state of her marriage to Prince William, speculations are always on. But one rumor that always seems to circle back is about her being pregnant, again.
The chatter about Kate having a fourth child has been floating around for years, with tabloids jumping at every chance to suggest another royal baby is on the way. Back in 2018, just under three months after she gave birth to Prince Louis, Life & Style stirred the pot with claims that Kate was already expecting again.

Citing her preference for looser outfits and specific foods, the outlet quoted a source saying, “Kate is showing all the signs of pregnancy, and she and William have always said they wanted four children to complete their family. Actually, William would like to have five kids, but Kate thinks four is enough!”
Despite the confident tone, that prediction never came true. Years have passed, and the royal couple has remained a family of five, showing no sign of expanding. But still, the rumor mill refuses to die down.
And not everyone’s excited by the idea. Over on Reddit, comments poured in with criticism: “Oh look, the spongers are having their fourth child that we’ll inevitably have to pay for. Great.” Another user remarked, “Why not doesn’t cost them anything and they don’t even have to look after them a win win for those parasites.”
Kate Middleton has announced she will soon return to work now she has finished cancer treatment.
She gave the update in an unprecedented video, showing moments with Prince William and their kids, exploring a forest, walking through tall grass and laughing around a table.

But speculation aside, the only person who really gets to decide if there’s going to be a fourth royal baby is Kate herself.
So, does Kate Middleton even want another child?
In the past, Kate has made it clear she’s not totally closed off to the idea. While attending royal engagements, she’s admitted that being around babies stirs something maternal in her. “It makes me very broody,” she once said, as quoted by People. That baby fever hasn’t gone unnoticed by William either. “William always worries about me meeting under 1-year-olds. I come home saying, ‘Let’s have another one,'” Kate added.
Still, that was back in 2022, and a lot has changed since then.
In 2024, Kate was diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis shifted her focus entirely. Through treatment, her attention naturally turned to her health, her three children, and her husband. Thankfully, by early 2025, she shared a positive update, where she announced her remission.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” she said in a public statement. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to.”
So while royal baby rumors continue to swirl, it’s clear that for now, Kate Middleton has other things on her mind, her health, her lovely family, and making the most of every day.
