Ever since Donald Trump returned to the White House for his second term in January 2025, the entire political scenario seems to be like a never -ending movie with too many scenes running all together.
Citizens seem to be confused, tired and have pointed out how his adamant and erratic “do as you are told” style of ruling can be both exhausting and frustrating. According to some lawmakers and political insiders, he’s reportedly ruling with an iron fist, like a real-life mob boss.
Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin is among those raising the alarm, claiming that Donald Trump has created a climate of fear within the Republican Party and beyond. “It’s like a mafia operation,” Raskin said directly. Adding that freshman GOP lawmakers are pressured into falling in line out of fear of retaliation from Trump or his wealthy allies.
As per The Radaronline, Rep Jamie Raskin said, “If you’re a freshman Republican and they’re telling you Elon Musk will drop $5 million to defeat you in a primary… you’re not going to mess with them anymore,” Raskin said, describing an environment where loyalty trumps independence, forcing many to act “like sheep.”
Even Elon Musk, who became an advisor to Donald Trump at the beginning of his term, has now stepped down after the two tried to portray themselves as strong allies. Both political figures are now estranged from each other after a series of political disagreements, online verbal battles, and jabs.
The Republican Party has reportedly seen a massive change under Trump’s leadership.
Only the members who remain loyal to the 79-year-old become the defining face of the party, with many abandoning traditional conservative values to please Donald Trump’s agenda.
These people get to be in front of the mainstream media, address the press, and enjoy privileges as a MAGA advocate. As a former business, surviving two impeachments and several legal battles, Donald Trump has emerged stronger in the eyes of his supporters, some of whom now view him as a “folk hero”.
However, his list of haters, which seems longer still, condemns him and his ruthless policies. Many people who hold anti-Trump sentiments define his era as a “cult,” and accuse him of leading America into an authoritarian state. Despite all the controversy, Donald Trump’s obsession with preserving his legacy remains.
With a robust PR strategy to stay relevant in the media, to punish those who fail to please him, reports reveal his governing style stems from his upbringing in the harsh New York real estate world under his father, Fred Trump, who was strict with his kids. The Trump family had three boys and two girls.

Donald Trump’s brother, Fred Trump Jr., better known as Freddy, died of complications from alcoholism, due to which the President saw a lot of trauma at home while growing up. He is a teetotaler who is against substance abuse. Freddy was eight years older than Donald, and he feared that Donald, a rebellious child, would follow in his path and ruin his life. But their father, Fred Trump, sent young Donald to military school, just in case.
“My father thought it would be good for discipline reasons. I was just somebody who was rebellious.” Donald Trump said in an interview with Sky News. He also opened up on how Freddy’s death left a void in his life. People believe that Trump’s blunt, cold, and “no-nonsense” behavior, where loyalty is expected as favors are traded, stemmed from his inevitable hardships during his childhood.
As per the outlet, “Most of the people on this stage, I’ve given a lot of money to,” Trump once bragged during a GOP debate. “When they call, I give. And when I need something from them… they’re there for me.” Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is also quite ambitious; he’s the first president in history who has famously expressed his desire to see his face carved into Mount Rushmore. (There are many more such demands.)

At this point, the members in the White House are divided, with ardent Trump supports like Kristi Noem, Karoline Leavitt, and VP JD Trump who is ready to praise every policy of the President, followed by Anti-Trump members like renowned author Michael Wolff, comedian Jimmy Falon, a bunch of representatives from the opposition and obviously, youngster who highly condemn Donald Trump’s way of life and political decisions.
While it’s unclear whether Donald Trump will push ahead with his monument ambitions, one thing is sure—his larger-than-life personality and “mob boss” tactics will leave an unforgettable legacy in the history of American politics.
