The world mourned the death of Michael Jackson in June 2009. The star’s unexpected death at the age of 50 left his family and fans alike shocked. The star’s death is spoken about to date, many people even believe that he faked his own death.

Several conspiracy theories have emerged in the decades following MJ’s death. Here’s a list of the top 5 conspiracy theories related to the singer’s death.

Michael Jackson was murdered

Michael Jackson’s own daughter has given birth to one of the most talked-about conspiracy theories about his death. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, she revealed that she thought her father was murdered. “All arrows point to that,” she said.

She went on to explain how, despite how bizarre it sounds, she, the “real fans,” and the singer’s family “know” that he was killed. She alleged that his death was a “set-up.”

MJ was killed because of his music catalogue

Michael Jackson’s daughter was not the only family member of Jackson’s who believed he was murdered. His older sister, La Toya Jackson, believed that Jackson was aware he was going to be killed.

“La Toya, I’m going to be murdered for my music publishing catalogue and my estate,” is what Michael allegedly told her before he passed away. The Sun has previously revealed a note that the star allegedly wrote before he passed away. “They are trying to murder me,” the note read.

In the same note, he spoke about how “scared” he was for his life. “The system wants to kill me for my catalogue,” another line in the note allegedly read.

The mystery behind Jackson’s will

All five of Michael’s siblings have bad blood with John Branca and John McClain, who were named as the executors of the singer’s real estate. Janet, Rebbie, Randy, Tito, and Jermaine accused the pair of fraud, forgery, exploitation, and abuse in 2012.

The siblings claimed that the star’s will was not signed by him at all. Jackson’s siblings supported the argument by alleging that the star wasn’t in Los Angeles on 7 July 2002, the day the will was signed.

The singer’s family also alleged that the star strongly disliked Branca and McClain to the point that he did not want them to have any involvement with his life.

The pair replied to the family’s claims by labelling them as “false and defamatory.” They also claimed that the family’s claims were grounded in “stale internet conspiracy theories.”

Michael Jackson took his own life

The autopsy results of the star revealed that his death was a homicide. The LA County Coroner’s office shared that a combination of drugs was found in the star’s body. Anesthetic propofol was one of them, which was prescribed to the star by his doctor, Conrad Murray. It was later discovered that the star was taking the pill to treat problems he was experiencing with sleeping.

The star’s personal doctor was later charged with involuntary manslaughter and given two years in jail. Murray’s lawyer claimed that Jackson “took desperate measures” and alleged that he was having financial problems.

“Is the theory that Michael Jackson committed suicide, took his own life? I don’t think that’s a salable theory,” Howard Weitzman, a lawyer presenting the star’s estate, commented in response.

The star was also allegedly “heavily addicted” to the drug he was prescribed, according to a law enforcement officer. The painkiller in question was OxyContin, according to ABC News.
