Trigger Warning: This article details a massive military attack including bombing.
Donald Trump was serious when he stated he would get involved in the war between Israel and Iran, amidst reports that Iran was developing a nuclear program. Tehran warned that any US military involvement would trigger “all-out war” and leading Iranian officials have issued stern warnings, with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei menacing “irreparable damage” if the US enters the battle.
However, Donald Trump launched an attack on Tehran’s key nuclear sites this weekend, joining Israel in the largest Western military action against the Islamic Republic since its 1979 revolution. Read ahead to find out how the Trump administration carried out the unexpected attack as smoothly as a brand-new blob of butter.
As per The Sun, the U.S. government has since announced details of the high-risk military attack, dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer, aimed at severely damaging Iran’s nuclear program and halting its push toward nuclear weapons. While Donald Trump announced just two days earlier that he would delay a decision on Iran by two weeks, it is now seen as a deliberate tactic to keep the opposite team in an illusion.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the mission had been under development for several months. America attacked Iran with seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers supported by more than 100 escort and support aircraft, including the F-22 Raptor. The fleet launched from the U.S. late Friday night under extreme secrecy. The bombers flew silently across the Atlantic, relying on mid-air refueling and radio silence to avoid detection.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. Iranian time, U.S. Navy submarines launched over two dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Isfahan nuclear site, coinciding precisely with the B-2 bombers’ silent entry into Iranian airspace. In the next 25 minutes, approximately 75 precision-guided munitions were launched, including 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs)—30,000-pound bunker-busting bombs capable of lancing deep underground.

The attack happened at 2:30 am, in pitch darkness, as no retaliation was seen. U.S. scouts and decoy aircraft led the way. They bombed the heavily fortified Fordow enrichment facility, which was declared “untouchable” by the Iranian government. Known for their exceptional skills, the U.S. bombers deployed double-strike techniques, dropping two bombs rapidly at the same coordinates to ensure maximum destruction.
After Fordow, they attacked Natanz and Esfahan. Satellite photographs have since confirmed substantial structural damage to Fordow. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responded in anger and claimed, vowing “everlasting consequences” and declaring that diplomacy with the U.S. was off the table.

On 22nd June, Donald Trump shared a post on Truth Social praising B-2 bomber pilots involved in a recent strike on Iran. In the original message, the 79-year-old wrote, “The GREAT B-2 pilots have landed safely in Missouri. Thank you for a job well done!!!” In addition, he kept everyone updated as America launched its attack on Saturday.
Reportedly, people trying to access Donald Trump’s favorite, Truth Social, after the announcement, were shown updates like “Network failed” and “Please try again.” Perhaps this error was caused by API congestion, potentially triggered by an overwhelming spike in traffic following Trump’s announcement. Even though the services to the platform were resumed shortly after, General Caine emphasized that American forces are prepared to respond to any retaliatory or proxy attacks by Iran or its allies.

He wrote, “We will defend ourselves. The safety of our service members and civilians remains our highest priority.” Meanwhile, Iran attacked Israel’s Tel Aviv with missiles, causing further tension in the dynamics.
