After Elon Musk officially exited from Donald Trump’s government in May after leading the Department of Government Efficiency for a few months, a very public meltdown between the two started on social media. Musk threw all kinds of allegations on Trump, including the mention of the President’s name on the Epstein files.
Musk also openly criticized Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”. In his short stint with the Trump administration, Musk slashed a number of federal departments and aids, citing reasons of budget control.
However, once he was out of the government, everything changed as he started attacking Trump openly on social media. The President also hit back and the two continued to fight for a while. After one point Musk backtracked on what he said about Trump and the President also downplayed the whole thing.
Musk’s moves made it clear that he was back at trying to make his relationship with the American President better and the feeling seemed to be the same from Trump’s side as well. However, Musk’s attention now seems to have shifted to another member from Trump’s administration, the President’s personnel director, Sergio Gor.
A report published by the New York Post mentioned that Gor has not yet submitted the required paperwork to get hold of permanent security clearance. The same was shared on Musk owned social media platform X by New York Times reporter Peter Baker and to this story, Musk bluntly replied that Gor is a snake.

The White House, however, did not agree with the post published by the New York Times and said in a statement to Huffpost, “Mr. Gor is fully compliant with all applicable ethical and legal obligations. His security clearance is active, any insinuation he doesn’t maintain a clearance is false.”

Despite being a long time Republican who co-owns a publishing house with Trump Jr. and also helped with Trump’s 2024 election campaign, Gor has remained mostly out of the spotlight. Musk and Gor’s relationship became tense after a cabinet meeting in March where Musk reportedly humiliated Gor on grounds of him not hiring quickly for key roles in various federal departments.
Things further worsened when Gor apparently played a part in Trump pulling out Jason Isaacman’s nomination to lead NASA. This happened only the next day that Musk left the government and Issac was being recommended by Musk only. Musk’s social media rants came shortly after Issac’s name was pulled, as Politico reported.

The chronology of the events show how Gor played a critical role in the feud that occurred between Trump and Musk. Now that the Tesla owner is trying to mend his relationship with the American President, he is now targeting the man who played a silent part in the whole thing.
