Melania Trump is often seen using fashion and her makeup as a form of experimentation. The First Lady has had some iconic fashion looks that made her stand apart, including the 2025 inauguration outfit. The FLOTUS is often seen opting for bolder makeup looks that feature a prominent smoky eye that highlights her natural fox eyes. Interestingly, Melania Trump’s initial makeup looks were softer and highlighted her natural beauty. In her younger years, the former model opted for more subtle makeup that can only be described as au naturale.

During a 1999 appearance, Melania was seen with a very subtle makeup look. The former model accompanied her now husband, Donald Trump, to the Red Cross Ball in Monaco. She was spotted in a stunning pink gown and complementing makeup. Photos from the event show Melania with a very subtle pink blush and very little eye makeup, unlike her recent looks.
A photo of her from a 2000 Mother’s Day event at Mar-a-Lago shows her sun-kissed look. In the photos from the event, she looks youthful and ready to hit the beach. The makeup look features a mix of a subtle coral lip, a smoky eye that enhances her natural eye shape, and a subtle blush.

Another noteworthy makeup look from the First Lady came at the Woman of the Year Luncheon in New York. The makeup look featured a flawless base and minimal product application otherwise. Her eyebrows were outlined lightly while she opted for a light pink lip color. Her striking blue eyes stood out with a simple eyeliner and mascara application.
During a September 2o22 outing, the former model perfected the no-makeup makeup look. As she accompanied Donald Trump to the Rosa Cha Runway Show during New York Fashion Week, she opted for a white blouse and let her hair down.

Melania opted for a much youthful makeup look while in attendance at a carnival-themed benefit for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation. For the April 2002 event, she was seen in a messy bun and a more understated makeup look. The now First Lady opted for her signature eyeliner placement, very little eyeshadow, and a pink lip.
As for her makeup look, she went for a perfect nude glossy lip and opted for a more heavy-handed eyeliner on her waterline. The seamless base of her makeup was the cherry on top. The FLOTUS was seen in what makeup gurus now might call a soft glam look.
