In photos, the lips looked bigger, the makeup was heavy and dark, and the dressing style shifted from dress to more casual wear, such as caps, t-shirts, and formal wear. Reports suggest that when Kristi was nominated as DHS Secretary in early 2025, she particularly polished her campaign imagery tied to immigration enforcement.

In mid-2025, revelations surfaced about undisclosed political contributions and lavish spending on state-funded mansion upgrades—luxuries like rugs and saunas. Critics continue to question whether her instead-staged evolution has cost her authenticity.
Reportedly, Trump haters and spooky fans on social media claim that most of the women from Trump’s team had a peculiar way they did their makeup and allegedly went under the knife. For instance, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is also criticized on several press briefings for her allegedly patchy makeup and plastic surgery.
