Princess Diana was truly the people’s princess. She was known for her warm and poised demeanor, grace, courage, and confidence. But there’s one more thing that we will never be able to forget about her, and that is her sense of fashion and style. Despite being a member of the Royal Family, Lady Di was outspoken, and her thoughts were often reflected through the outfits and accessories she chose for various events. Let’s celebrate her legacy through some of the best jewelry she ever adorned herself with; some remain iconic, while others are controversial.
Princess Diana’s Engagement Ring
The diamond and sapphire ring that is now possessed by Kate Middleton, the current Princess of Wales and the wife of Prince William, once belonged to Lady Di. The 12-carat blue Ceylon sapphire itself is iconic, but the 14 solitaire diamonds add more beauty to this beautiful ring worn by Diana when she got engaged to Prince Charles. This single piece of jewelry serves as a carrier of her legacy within and outside the Royal family.
Diana’s Spencer Tiara
Another iconic jewelry often worn by Princess Diana, belonged to her father, John Spencer. On her wedding day, Lady Di worn this family heirloom along with her David and Elizabeth Emanuel gown, creating a fashion moment that will go down the history. Not only Diana, her two sisters also wore it on their wedding days. The tiara, which was crafted by Garrard in the 1930s, didn’t exactly belong to Diana, but she sure made it look iconic.

Diana’s Headband-Choker
The diamond and emerald choker was gifted to Queen Mary by the 1911 Delhi Durbar, or as known as “Court of Delhi.” Diana also wore this Art Deco choker as a headband occasionally.

Aquamarine Earrings
Diana definitely loved aquamarines, and her admiration can be seen inside her jewel locker. She owned a pair of diamond drop earrings that showcased her penchant for aquamarines. In 1987, the late Princess attended a banquet in Munich when she paired these beautiful earrings with a Catherine Walker gown and her iconic Spencer tiara.

The Sapphire Brooch
Talking about Diana’s iconic jewelry moment and missing this fabulous brooch? That could never happen. The jaw-dropping brooch that was bedazzled with diamond and sapphire originally belonged to the Queen Mother. Later, it was converted into a neckpiece with a seven-strand pearl choker. When her marriage with Charles came to an end, Lady Di created one of the best fashion statements in history by pairing the sapphire brooch with her “revenge dress.”

Queen Elizabeth’s Gift to Diana
Diana loved wearing tiaras, and she received another fabulous piece from Queen Elizabeth II before her wedding day in 1981. This Royal Family heirloom was commissioned by Queen Mary in 1913. Years after Diana’s death, it was transferred to Catherine, who wore it a few times since 2015.

Princess Diana often wore tiaras and paired them with chokers.

Meghan Markle once wore the aquamarine ring Princess Diana bought herself after divorce from Charles.
