A Florida woman was arrested for racially harassing two kids under the age of 5. The woman named Ada Anderson was arrested by the authorities after she sprayed bear mace at the children.
Here’s everything you need to know about the alleged harassment.
An 81-year-old woman was arrested after her racial harassment of two children turned into physical assault. Anderson has allegedly been calling two girls aged 3 and 6 who were her neighbors with racial slurs.
According to their mother, the girls had been facing this mistreatment for a prolonged period of time.
April Morant and her daughter moved into their new house in November 2024, which is when the harassment began. The mother of two initially encouraged her children to ignore the derogatory names they were being called.
“I finally heard it myself like two days later, and she called me the N-word and we don’t belong in this neighborhood, and then my other daughter comes out and she’s like, ‘Oh, look at the whales,’” April recalls.
Matters got out of hand when the elderly woman allegedly sprayed bear mace on the kids. The siblings were reportedly playing with bubbles in their house’s driveway when the scarring incident unfolded. The mother of two recalls initially mistaking the can of mace for a gun.
“She was saying something to us, but I wasn’t paying her any attention. I thought it was a gun in her hand, and it was the mace,” April shared with WCJB. She revealed how it became evident that it was bear lace when the old woman started spraying it at them.

Anderson, on the other hand, claims that the incident unfolded very differently. The 81-year-old claimed that the toddlers were running close to the fence that separates her house from theirs. She admitted to spraying the liquid, but claimed spraying it 40 feet away and not directly at them.
Authorities revealed finding brownish-orange sprayed on the fence, grass, and at a few other parts of the property upon investigation. Following the event, April Morant has been prompted to move out of the neighborhood with her children for their own safety.
The mother of two even started a GoFundMe to gain financial support for the move. On the official page for the fundraiser, Morant alleged that her neighbor had poisoned the “air with her hate” since the day that her family moved in. The woman went on to express her fear at what might happen when Anderson is released from jail.
A ‘geriatric Karen’ attacked a mother and her two small daughters with pepper spray and shouted racial slurs at them while they played with bubbles in their yard.

Anderson was arrested and charged with felony battery following the incident. The elderly woman has also had run-ins with the law in the past. She was arrested in 2017 for stalking, again in 2019 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Her alleged assault of Morant’s daughters isn’t even the first time she has had trouble with neighbors. In 2019, Anderson was arrested for pulling out a gun on one of her neighbors.
