Drake’s most recent post demonstrates the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) huge fan following. The musician is betting a sum of money on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs. Punjab Kings (PBKS) game. On social media, his most recent proof—in which he posted an example of the stakes he made—is currently trending.

Drake posted a screenshot of the betting app on his Instagram account on June 3rd, showing that he had wagered $750k on RCB to win the 2025 Indian Premier League. It is about equivalent to ₹6,41,07,975. According to the screen grab, if the Bengaluru squad wins the trophy, the rapper may win up to $1.312 million at odds of 1.75.

The singer’s post left his American fans perplexed. Some were perplexed by his post, while others realized that the wager was for a cricket match. Nonetheless, social media users and Indian fans praised the rapper in the comment area and expressed their anticipation for the eagerly anticipated conclusion.

Drake added the caption, “Ee sala cup namde,” which is a common expression among RCB supporters and signifies that this year’s cup is ours, to heighten the enthusiasm.

The town is buzzing with rumors of the “Drake Curse” following the 38-year-old’s large wager. According to the sports notion, whichever team the rapper wagers on, loses in the end. The Canadian just lost a million dollars after betting on the Toronto Maple Leafs to defeat the Florida Panthers in a playoff game on May 18.

The rapper from Canada had previously wagered a million dollars on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the 2025 Super Bowl. The Philadelphia Eagles ultimately defeated the Chiefs. In November 2024, Drake also lost almost $3,35,000 when he backed Mike Tyson over Logan Paul. An intriguing aspect of the rapper’s betting history, however, is that the sport that has yielded the most returns for him (48.3%) is cricket.

Following three months of consecutive matches, the eagerly anticipated IPL 2025 Final has finally arrived. Today, June 3, the game is set to take place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. On May 29, the Rajat Patidar-led RCB advanced straight to the final by defeating the Punjab Kings in the first qualifier.

Shreyas Iyer’s PBKS became the second team to reach the finals after defeating the Mumbai Indians on June 1. Fans will find the encounter much more intriguing because neither side has yet to win an IPL trophy.

Today at 7:30 p.m., the IPL final will be streamed. Both Jio Hotstar and the Star Sports television station will broadcast the game live.
