Tragedy struck America after right-wing activist Charlie Kirk was shot to death while giving a speech at the Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon. About 11 years ago, he made a post on X, which is trending at the moment. And it looks like, Kirk might have predicted his own death from a gunshot.

The post dates back to June 22, 2014 where the Trump ally wrote, “Did I just get shot by an AR-15? Feels like it.” As video footage of the haunting shooting circulates on social media, people are pointing to this decade-long post by the conservative pundit.

According to reports and footage, Kirk was in the middle of discussing gun violence in America when the killer fired at him. He was shot in his neck and immediately startled bleeding before collapsing from the chair. Unverified sources have claimed the shooting weapon to be a sniper. However, any official confirmation on it is due.

After the firing, Kirk was rushed to hospital. He was pronounced dead almost after ninety minutes of the shooting. Ellen Treanor, a spokesperson for Utah Valley University said that the gunman have executed the plot from Losee Center, about 200 yards away from the stage Kirk was speaking.

Kirk is the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth group Turning Point USA. His organization confirmed the incident with a tragic message. President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to share the news as he wrote, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” VP JD Vance shared his prayers too. Taking to X he wrote, “Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father.”

According to local authorities, only one shot was fired. The University leadership suspended remaining classes for the day, with an immediate lockdown in action. The incident has sent shockwaves through the country. Both Republicans and Democrats are condemning gun violence.

David Hogg, former DNC co-chair and survivor of the Parkland shooting, wrote, “Horrifying news that Charlie Kirk has been shot. Gun violence and political violence have to f——- stop. Charlie, his family, and all the students who had to witness the shooting are in my thoughts. We have disagreements, but we all agree something has to change.”

Democrat Pete Buttigieg, the former naval officer who served as the 19th United States secretary of transportation from 2021 to 2025, wrote, “Horrific to hear that Charlie Kirk was shot today in Utah. Political violence must be always and totally be rejected. Praying for him and all who may have been injured or impacted.”
