President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visited the United Kingdom last week after the royal family invited them on a state visit. The three-day visit, hosted by King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer, showcased the enduring “special relationship” between the U.K and the U.S. The visit was highly publicized, with even the simplest details about who wore what during the events being covered.
After Trump returned to America on September 18, he addressed the White House press and spoke about his time in the U.K. He sounded energetic and happy as he compared the foundation of the Windsor Castle, where he and Melania resided during the visit, to the iconic White House.
President Trump and his beautiful wife Melania have touched down in the UK for his unprecedented second visit.

Trump claimed that King Charles (referring to him as sir) told him that Windsor Castle was built in 990 ( not accurate, but for Trump, it is), and the 79-year-old was astonished. He said, “I thought the White House was old” ( it was built in 1799). He then said that during that era, the king’s name was William the Conqueror, and added, “It’s a really cool name. He was known for winning wars.” Trump added.

The POTUS also revealed that he asked King Charles III if he could keep his name, William the Conqueror, to which His Majesty replied, “I don’t think so.” For the uninitiated, William the Conqueror was the first Norman king of England. He wanted to build Windsor Castle on the banks of the mighty River Thames.
Construction of the castle began in 1070, four years after he invaded England, and by 1086, it was only made of timber. Later, when King Henry II took over in 1154, he started replacing the walls of Windsor Castle with stone and converted the castle into a palace, adding royal apartments.
Queen Victoria, who ruled from 1837 to 1901, also spent most of her time in the palace. Edward III spent £50,000 beautifying the castle, as per the outlet Town&Country, it is “more than any other medieval English king spent on a single building.” It has been the home to over 40 monarchs in history.
After Donald Trump’s claims that he was shocked to learn that Windsor Castle was older than the White House, the now-circulated clip was posted on Instagram. People had a series of mixed reactions to it.
“He is visibly impressed to discover that there were years with only three digits,” one user wrote. “Most 5-year-olds are smarter than that man,” another added. “This is EXACTLY what it’s like listening to a 2nd grader tell you about something they are really into,” a third one added.
Another mocked Trump’s historical knowledge, saying, “So he learns world history at age 79? I think I learned that in junior high.”
Last but not least, one commentator wrote, “Trump just discovered there was a world before the USA.” Donald Trump is known for his vague and rude remarks, and at this point in American politics, even the trolls have become too comfortable mocking him online.
Furthermore, protests against Trump’s state visit were held in popular places in London and Windsor, reflecting a divided public opinion. This was seen in the wake of his alleged ties with late convicted s-x offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Some social media users scrutinized Donald Trump’s behavior around the royals, including moments when he touched King Charles and walked ahead of him; however, royal experts confirmed no formal breach of protocol occurred.
Others mocked his visible bald patches and receding hairline, which were quite evident in paparazzi pictures and videos. Despite all the drama, the UK government claimed the visit was a diplomatic win that strengthened the political ties between the nations.
