Donald Trump‘s self obsession has grown and he made America’s Birthday all about himself. The independence day event at the Des Moines rally was to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country.
However, it became all about Trump’s rant on antisemitism, democrats, and recent achievements. He boasted about how he saved the country and got great remarks in the first term. He stated this is going to blow away. He asked if anyone had ever felt better than these last two weeks.
He is all giddy about the signing of his Big, Beautiful Bill. Despite the criticism of the bill, he was celebrating the smooth passing of the bill as per his plans. Trump is so used to making things about himself that he even took credit for the Veterans Choice bill. This was passed into law by Obama.
Former President Barack Obama took the moment to call out Trump in his independence day post. Obama reminded people that USA isn’t one man project. He called the US single most powerful democracy. Moreover, he explained the power of ‘we’ to all the citizens.
He mentioned democratic principles are under attack; even the world is more cynical now than ever. According to him, it’s time to build democracy in practical ways. Many people responded positively to his post, asking him to even come back as the president again. One user commented he’s afraid nothing is left of the country.

This post follows another former president, George Bush, who joined with Obama over the dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). They called it the biggest mistake, a tragedy. There are also cuts on the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, which they both have opposed. Bush states that 25 million people would have died otherwise.
Some were justifying Trump’s bill and actions, saying they elected Trump, so they know what he is doing. One user asked him to propose solutions to several current issues. Obama has also voiced out how the bill impacts over 16 million people. They will lose their health care since there are federal cuts to Medicaid. With this bill, the medical facilities will no longer be affordable. The working-class people might be the most impacted by this. Obama has urged the people to call their reps and vote no to the bill.
