Donald Trump‘s ever-evolving speculation about his bleached hair, wigs, and alleged cosmetic surgeries has been an age-old topic of discussion. From golden to platinum blond, with the transition in his leadership, people have also noticed the change in his hair color.
The president’s signature combover has long required a good balance of styling, coloring, and, reportedly, a good amount of product. Yet, the frequent change in color has raised concerns about how much the hair can take.
On July 8, Trump arrived at a White House Cabinet meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi, meant to address the administration’s decision to halt the release of additional files tied to the late Jeffrey Epstein. However, the topic that quickly stole the spotlight wasn’t the controversial policy but it was Donald Trump’s newly bleached hair.
As per Nicki Swift, Observers noted that the intense dye job looked even more extreme than his previous transformation, which he debuted during his public fallout with former ally Elon Musk. Meanwhile, the bleach may have achieved an impressive lift, but it also left his hair looking more fragile than ever. Online jokes about his hair have existed long before he became the president.
As we know, bleach is a harsh chemical commonly used in the hair industry. Donald Trump’s frequent and noticeable color changes tell a lot about his reliance on it. However, with his age and the chemical composition of these colors, it looks like very soon he might have to get a permanent hair transplant or keep his signature red MAGA hat on forever.
TRUMP, on the blazing sun at his rally: “You know, I have a very powerful head of hair. If they would have turned me this way, it would have been hitting me on the hair, & it wouldn’t have hurt! In fact, it would have made me even more blonde.“ pic.twitter.com/XbnhrEEZfQ

In his book ‘Donald Trump: How To Get Rich, Donald Trump spoke about his color and said, “Somehow the color never looks great, the hell, I just don’t like gray hair,” he shared. Moreover, the Republican candidate also evidently applies makeup to cover the bald patches due to hair thinning.
Trump bleached his hair, again. And he looks more like an oompah-loompah than he ever has—went heavy on the spray tan, this time. You need sunglasses to look at him…if you must look at him. pic.twitter.com/qZZLhaYO9x

Trump has missed a spot or two while applying his makeup, and in public pictures, his real skin color has been exposed. Spots near the ear or behind the neck often do not get the same quantity of makeup that his face does, resulting in an unappealing and patchy look.
Though changing up his iconic hairstyle at this point would be a bold move, Trump himself once joked about swapping it out. During a 2024 golf outing, Trump approached a young girl with voluminous curls and quipped, “Oh, I love that hair. I want her hair! Can I buy your hair? I’ll pay you millions for it!” (via ABC News).

Even though the comment was casually brushed off, it showed Donald Trump’s obsession with “perfect hair.” Moreover, owing to his hair obsession, netizens have speculated about his narcissistic tendencies and his leadership style. For example, recently, his phone wallpaper was an AI-generated and highly edited picture of himself.
This proves that soon-to-be 80-year-old Donald Trump has a significant insecurity surrounding his media appearance and hair. Back in June 2025, in an Instagram post, Trump was seen with Bryson DeChambeau, a professional golfer.

Yet again, his hair color looked different. So what’s next? Maybe a fiery red look to honor his red flags or a stark green color which would flap in the wind?
While an extreme makeover seems unlikely, we are waiting to see the following change soon. One thing’s for sure: Whether it’s policy or peroxide, Trump always finds a way to make headlines. He loves his hair and isn’t afraid to admit it despite the series of controversies.
