Elon Musk and Donald Trump, former BFFs had a rather nasty fall out after Musk left the Trump administration back in May. Musk was the head of the Department of Government Efficiency and with backing from Trump, made a number of sweeping cuts to various federal departments, citing the reason for saving the American economy.
However, since his exit in May, Musk waged a social media war against Trump and accused him of all sorts of things. He also criticized Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, something he had supported when he was part of the administration. Things went too far after Musk said that Trump’s name was in the Epstein files.
Anyone who campaigned on the PROMISE of REDUCING SPENDING , but continues to vote on the BIGGEST DEBT ceiling increase in HISTORY will see their face on this poster in the primary next year pic.twitter.com/w13Qkm2e1A

He backtracked then and ‘expressed regret’ to Trump as well, who seemed to accept his apology. While things seemed to have cooled off between them, Musk proved once again that it is not the case. The tech billionaire publicly criticized the Big Beautiful Bill again and, posted on X, “Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!”
He further added, “And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.” Musk had famously spent $250 million to help elect Trump in 2024 but after his exit in May, he mentioned that he had done enough.
Musk did not stop at criticizing the bill and referred back to his idea about forming a different political party that he had hinted at following his exit from the Trump administration. Musk mentioned, “It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!” He also mentioned, “Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.”

In another post, Musk said that the America Party will be formed the very next day of the bill’s passing, in case it passes. He said that the party will be formed with the aim of providing “an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”
As Musk made the series of posts, Trump also went ahead with lashing out on Truth Social. Trump posted, “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.”
His post further mentioned, “Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this?” Trump added, referencing the Department of Government Efficiency that Musk spearheaded. “BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
Previously, Trump had already made it clear that any Republican who tries to oppose the passing of his Big Beautiful Bill will not be spared. Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has already faced Trump’s wrath because of him opposing the bill and with Musk reigniting his feud with the American President, the bill’s future remains to be seen.
