The internet is enjoying the new ‘Daddy’ Trump. The White House sure thinks he fits the moniker after NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s statement. His administration has found a new way of keeping humor intact, parading the U.S. President as the new “daddy.”
On June 24, Trump announced that a ceasefire had been agreed between Iran and Israel, declaring that the war had stopped. However, it didn’t take long enough for both nations to violate the supposed negotiation. As both countries continued launching missiles at each other, it was a trigger moment for Donald Trump, who couldn’t keep his cool in front of the reporters.
Trump was asked about the violation of the ceasefire before boarding his Air Force One to attend the NATO summit in the Netherlands. The Republican leader was visibly angry after getting the question. “The two countries have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f–k they’re doing, do you understand that?” he responded.
During a conversation with Mark Rutte, Donald Trump remarked that Israel and Iran are like “two kids in a school yard” who “fight like hell.”
“You know, they fight like hell. You can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes, then it’s easier to stop.”
Rutte, who was spotted laughing at his comment, chimed in, “And then daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get them to stop.“ He was referring to Trump’s usage of the F-word to describe the intense situation. The president responded, “Everyone said ‘Well, you have to use a certain word.’“
In light of the “daddy“ nickname, a Sky News reporter asked Trump if he considered his NATO allies as his children. Donald Trump smiled while Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State who was standing behind him, chuckled.
This is gold 😂
NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, referred to Trump as “daddy” when describing how Trump forced Israel and Iran to stop fighting.
A reporter then asked Trump if he is the “daddy” of our NATO allies, and Rubio can’t hold it in.

“No, he likes me. I think he likes me. If he doesn’t, I’ll let you know. I’ll come back and I’ll hit him hard, OK…He did it very affectionately though, ‘Daddy, you’re my daddy,“ the two-time U.S. President commented.
However, when asked, Rutte explained in what sense he called Trump “daddy.“
“In Europe, I sometimes hear countries say, ‘Hey Mark, will the US stay with us?‘ and I said that sounds a bit like a small child asking his daddy, ‘Are you still staying with the family?‘”
“In that sense, I used the word ‘daddy.‘ I was not calling President Trump that,“ he clarified.
Despite his explanation, the White House found a new way to busk in the humor. On their official X (formerly Twitter), they shared a quirky edit of Donald Trump at the NATO summit, adding Usher’s Daddy’s Home as the background song.

Well, as you can guess, it only took seconds before the world began using “daddy“ as Donald Trump’s new moniker. It is to be noted that he has been referred by the same name before as well.
During a 2023 interview with Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, golfer John Daly called Trump “daddy.“ He commented that he and his fellow golfers “want Daddy Trump back.”
While it was used in a completely different sense, Donald Trump later posted the reference on his Truth Social, not once, but twice, seemingly enjoying a power trip.
