An invitation to Jeff Bezos’s celebrity-filled wedding in Venice was turned down by Donald Trump. According to reports, tech billionaire Mr. Bezos was attempting to get close to the US president in an effort to take Elon Musk’s place as “First Buddy.” The 61-year-old, who is getting ready for his extravagant three-day wedding in Venice, has spoken to Mr. Trump twice in recent weeks, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
The WSJ was informed by White House officials that the invitation had been extended. However, due to “scheduling conflict”, Mr. Trump is not anticipated to attend the event in Venice.
Ms. Sánchez’s acquaintance Ivanka, the daughter of Mr. Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, are anticipated to attend. The president’s eldest son, Donald Jr., is also attending. It follows allegations that Mr. Bezos and Ms. Sanchez were previously secretly married in the United States.
The Daily Mail claims that while the couple was legally married months ago, they have not applied for a marriage license. “They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law,” a source told the paper.
In 2019, Mr. Trump made fun of Mr. Bezos by calling him “Jeff Bozo” in reference to the billionaire’s ownership of the Washington Post. However, the newspaper broke a decades-old liberal tradition by not endorsing Kamala Harris in last year’s presidential election.

The Post declined to publish an anti-administration ad in February that questioned who was in charge of the nation: Elon Musk or Donald Trump. Following a direct request from the president, Mr. Bezos canceled plans earlier this year to show how much each transaction cost Amazon customers as a result of Mr. Trump’s proposed tariffs.
The creator of Amazon and one of the wealthiest men in the world, Mr. Bezos, seems to be attempting to take advantage of Mr. Trump’s dramatic rift with Mr. Musk, which began at the end of last month, as per a report.
According to the WSJ, Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, has also had discussions with Dave Limp, the CEO of Mr. Bezos’ space company Blue Origin. Bezos’s strategy has strong financial justifications, chief among them being the potential for government contracts for Blue Origin.

Since the US ceased employing the Russians to transport missions to the International Space Station, Elon Musk’s SpaceX has dominated the market up to this point, dazzlingly surpassing Blue Origin in the competition to become NASA’s primary contractor.
Earlier, the Extinction Rebellion staged a demonstration in the center of St. Mark’s Square in response to Mr. Bezos’ wedding. A black and white banner with the words “The One Per Cent Ruins The World” was unfurled by an activist from the group who climbed an 80-foot pole outside St. Mark’s Basilica.
It came after earlier protests against the three-day spectacle. Some Venetians were angry about Mr. Bezos’s wealth, his connections to Mr. Trump, and what they perceived as the super-rich using Venice as a playground.
