It is important to keep up to date with TSA’s new rules to ensure a smooth flight. Transportation Security Administration often comes up with new terms and conditions about carrying specific items on the flight and without prior knowledge about those, one might find themselves in trouble.
While the rules relating to electronics and toiletries are quite well known, TSA also has regulations in place when it comes to a particular piece of clothing item, wedding dress. Regardless of whether the dress is packed in as checked-in luggage or put in a carry-on bag, the TSA has particular rules in place for it to be carried smoothly.
According to the TSA website, “You can bring a wedding dress through the security checkpoint for screening, but we strongly recommend that it is packed safely in a garment-style bag or other packaging to protect it during the screening process.”
The website further mentions, “We also recommend that you contact your airline to determine their policy for bringing and stowing the dress on the airplane, as well as how it fits into their carry-on bag limitations. If for some reason your dress cannot fit through the checkpoint X-ray machine for screening, alternate screening procedures will be taken to clear the dress and your garment bag will need to be opened.”

TSA’s rules regarding wedding dresses make it clear that one has to be very careful while carrying it because otherwise their dress might get damaged in the process of checking and also cause delay in the whole onboarding process.
