Donald Trump’s 79th birthday was a huge event this year with the day coinciding with the American military’s 250th anniversary. The coincidence also allowed Trump to arrange a military parade on his big day, something he had desired since his first term as the President.
While several key figures attended the parade, Barron Trump’s absence has started to raise eyebrows. Melania Trump, who has also raised speculations with the very less time she spends at The White House, also made sure to attend her husband’s birthday parade.
However, their only son, Barron, was nowhere to be seen, which has given rise to rumors about Trump’s relationship with his son and how fine and healthy it is.
Moreover, the fact that JD Vance was present with his wife Usha Vance and their children highlighted Barron’s absence even more. While it is already established that Barron likes to keep a low profile and does not enjoy the spotlight much, he did make public appearances during his father’s presidential campaign.
However, since Trump became the President, Barron has again slipped into the shadows. Moreover, he has also become a subject of joke because of the President’s vague and generic ways of describing him. For instance, when Trump was asked to talk about his son on the Pod One podcast, he simply said, “Barron is great. He is very tall and good.”

Before this also, in a 2015 interview with E! News, Trump said, talking about Barron, “He’s a great boy, he’s working hard, he’s starting the school thing — you know, the beginning of the process, and he’s going to be a very good boy.” His words show how he probably does not have a very good idea about his own son.
The criminal charges against Trump also seem to have affected Barron’s relationship with him. In an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw, when Trump was asked about the same, he said that he thinks his son is negatively affected by them. He further added, “But he doesn’t say it, and I think he doesn’t say it because he doesn’t want to hurt me, and he thinks it’s possibly a hurtful conversation. But it has to affect my family, and I think that’s really very unfair.
Because I have a very good family, I have good kids, I have a wonderful wife.” Trump’s words showed he never had a conversation about these things with Barron and thus assuming his sons’s feelings was the only thing he could do.

Moreover, in recent times, Barron’s name was dragged because of the war that the President waged against Harvard University as rumors flew that Trump was targeting Harvard because Barron was denied admission there. It was Melania who came forward with a clarifying statement that Barron, who is currently studying in NYU, never applied to Harvard and therefore the question of rejection does not occur.
In other instances as well, Melania has always been more vocal and enthusiastic about Barron while she also ensured that she does not reveal something that might hamper her son’s privacy. Donald Trump on the other hand, simply appears as a father who has no clear idea about his son and how he is as a person.
Therefore, Barron’s absence from Trump’s birthday parade has naturally drawn a lot of attention. This event was clearly important for Trump and regardless how busy Barron is with his studies, being the President’s son, it was expected that he would be there.
However, neither Trump nor Melania has said anything about their son’s absence and it remains to be seen if the rumors continue to grow, what their next move would be.
