Most teenagers are embarrassed of their parents, even if their parents are the President of the United States. The Youngest First Son, Barron, is in the same boat.
Donald Trump is no stranger to the spotlight. He likes it, enjoys it and does most out there things to get it. However, it has recently been reported that his attention seeking habits are now embarrassing his young adult son, Barron Trump.
It is a well known fact the President loves to take over the music responsibility at social events. And this habit is the cause of mild “cringe” for his teenage son.
There was a particular event at Mar-a-Lago estate at Palm beach that left Barron embarrassed. This event was supposed to be a casual gathering among friends. However, Donald Trump had other plans.
The actor and comedian, Vincent Oshana, recounted this incident on the PBD Podcast, where Barron had his friends over and was looking for a low-key evening. However, the mood for the evening dramatically shifted when President Trump took over the duties of music.
Oshana described the evening and then said, suddenly, the music came on loud, and before anyone could understand, Barron said, ‘My freaking dad’s the DJ.’ He went on to describe how one could see the President on his iPad with its light on his face.
Trump reportedly blasted Sinéad O’Connor’s powerful ballad “Nothing Compares 2 U” at full volume. The song was definitely not something teenagers would have chosen for their evening. It was a light-hearted moment where a small teenage gathering was taken over by a more flamboyant parent.
Some might see parents as being parents and interfering with their kids’ and their friends. However on a bigger level it showcases Donald Trump’s innate need to control everything around him and be the center of attention.
Over the years, Trump has cultivated a larger-than-life image. It has been through politics, television, or social media. Music, it seems, is just another outlet for that expression.

The President has even claimed in interviews that he was something of a “musical prodigy” in his youth. He noted that he studied instruments like the flute and believes he has a naturally refined musical ear. Though there is no proof or way to verify these statements, they show how deeply Trump values performance and perception.
Donald Trump has always found people who appeared on TV as more reliable than those who may be experts in their field but have no media presence. It was obvious from the way he chose his cabinet. Most of his cabinet members are TV personalities from FOX news or other areas of entertainment.

Barron Trump, on the other hand, has tried to stay away from the media. It could be his mother’s influence, who tries her best not to make any statements in the media and public. Yet, Barron has largely stayed out of the public eye.
He has recently become more visible, especially after the inauguration ceremony. He was recently selected as a delegate for the Republican National Convention, though he later declined the role, citing prior commitments.
Barron has reportedly sought to maintain a sense of normalcy and privacy. The DJ episode at Mar-a-Lago offers a glimpse into the tension that can arise when a teenager’s need for personal space collides with a parent’s outsized personality.
This story is more about the everyday awkwardness of growing up, which could be magnified by fame.
Here are some snaps of the father and son together.
