The Trump family never seems to escape conspiracy theories. This time, the victim is none other than the First Lady, as everyone’s favorite conspiracy theory is back on the internet.
There have long been speculations about Melania Trump’s body double, and after her public outing with her husband, Donald Trump, this week, people are once again discussing it.
Some social media users think that the FLOTUS is actually taking the help of a “clone” during official engagements with the President. Many believe that the 55-year-old former model no longer wishes to be seen alongside her husband, and she is also not interested in taking part in events alongside him. Others are convinced that she’s been “swapped out” due to safety concerns.
The conspiracy theory about Melania’s body double first sparked in 2017 when the Presidential pair visited the hurricane-affected regions in Florida in the presence of Secret Service agents. At that time, a clip went viral on social media where the First Lady is seen standing still as a statue. In the viral video, her husband, Trump, remarks, “My wife Melania…who happens to be right here.”
While many believes in this theory, some continues to scratch their heads in search of answers. So why the body double rumor is so popular among online users? As we take a look at the past, it could be noted that some people spotted alleged changes in Melania Trump‘s physical appearances within a very short time.
These changes, often considered “evidence” by conspiracy theorists, included her jawline and overall face shape suddenly looking different and an unusual increase in her height. Although none of these supposed “proof” could actually be confirmed, that didn’t rest the wild theories.

On June 11, the rumors once again took the internet by storm, when the First Lady attended the live performance of Les Miserables at the Kennedy Center in Washington, alongside Donald Trump. Melania was spotted wearing gigantic pair of sunglasses that initially reignited the body double theory yesterday.
“Sunglasses, that’s fake Melania,” one X (formerly Twitter) user commented. Another chimed in. “Not Melania, body double,” another declared. A third added, “Cool to see fake Melania is out and about.”

One user asked, “Why is Fake Melania wearing sunglasses at night again?” More users pointed out that “sunglasses usually indicate fake Melania,” referring to the moments in the past when the same theories made rounds on the internet.
Another conspiracy theorist talked about a different “clue,” in the snapshots from last evening. “That is obviously photoshopped. The right arm and hand are clearly not hers when compared to the left.” A second asked people to pay attention to her smile, claiming that it’s different than the “real” Melania Trump’s.
Regarding the wild speculations, Donald Trump previously tweeted, “The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania, then propelled conspiracy theories that it’s actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places. They are only getting more deranged with time!”
