Melania Trump made a rare appearance on Wednesday night as she joined her husband, Donald Trump, on a date night. The First Couple visited the Kennedy Center to see the musical Les Misérables. As the couple took a few minutes to interact with the reporters, it appeared that Trump hijacked all the spotlight from Melania.
Donald Trump and Melania twinned in black outfits as they walked the red carpet last night. Melania’s slim-fit black gown perfectly complemented Trump’s black tuxedo and matching shoes and bow tie. Melania stepped on the red carpet, flaunting her shining silver heels that she perfectly pulled off at 55.
Trump gave a whole 10-minute interview on the red carpet, and people couldn’t help but notice how Melania barely spoke and chose to just smile throughout the chit-chat, like a trophy wife.

The couple was first asked to recall the first theatre production they had seen. Donald Trump said, “Oooh it was a long time ago,” the president said. “I would say maybe it was Cats.”
Telling about herself, Melania added, “Phantom of the Opera” without adding any more words.
When asked if she was a fan of Les Misérables, Melania said, “I am, I am,” before Trump cut in. The couple was then asked if they would consume popcorn and Diet Coke while watching the musical. This time, too, Trump was the first one to respond. He said, “I think so,” while Melania replied with a simple “no”.
Melania chose to remain silent even when Trump couldn’t answer a question. The President was asked which Les Misérables main character he identified with more–Jean Valjean or Inspector Javert?
“That’s a tough one, the last part of that question that’s tough,” Trump replied while turning to his wife, and saying, “I think you better answer that one honey, I don’t know…”
To everyone’s surprise, Melania remained silent.
Trump then added, “I’ve seen it (Les Misérables), we’ve seen it a number of times. It’s fantastic. We have others coming (to the Kennedy Center), other great ones are coming.”

It was evident then and there that he had no clue who Valjean or Javert were! And Melania made no attempts to rescue him either.

Trump’s attendance at the Kennedy Center was met with some backlash as he appointed himself as the Chairman earlier this year to remove any “woke” productions from the venue. It stirred a massive controversy, with criticism from the entertainment industry and several actors threatening to boycott.
When Trump was asked about the possible boycott, he said he “couldn’t care less about it” because all he does is “run the country well.”
During the red carpet interview, Trump also boasted about his success with trade tariffs, containing LA protests among other things. And, as expected, Melania stood like a mannequin with an unshakeable smile.
Melania’s absence from the White House is often questioned and met with rumors and speculations. And therefore, whenever she makes an appearance, it grabs massive attention from the tabloids and fans. She is next expected to face the paparazzi on Trump’s 79th birthday, which coincides with the Army’s 250th anniversary.
