Eric Trump is under fire again, this time for claiming that God himself played a hand in putting Donald Trump in the White House.

In a resurfaced Christian podcast episode originally aired in January 2024, the Trump Organization executive didn’t hold back in describing his father’s rise to power as nothing short of biblical.

“I think he’s created the greatest political movement in history, and I really do believe someone, something is looking down and guiding him every single day because there’s no way in the world he could be where he is today without the intervention of God,” Eric said, doubling down with, “I feel it, I know it.”

The comment, which many are calling outrageous and delusional, was swiftly mocked on social media. Critics accused the Trump family of blasphemy and dangerously mixing religion with politics.

This isn’t the first time the next generation of Trumps have dipped their toes into religious rhetoric. Donald Trump Jr., back in 2021, infamously told young conservatives to abandon one of Christianity’s most foundational teachings.

“We’ve turned the other cheek, and I understand, sort of, the biblical reference — I understand the mentality — but it’s gotten us nothing,” Trump Jr. said at the time. “It’s gotten us nothing while we’ve ceded ground in every major institution in our country.”

Yet, despite the hypocrisy, critics point out cutting programs for the poor, vilifying immigrants, and pushing deeply divisive rhetoric—the Trump camp continues to frame his presidency as divinely inspired.

Eric even suggested his father won the presidency against all odds thanks to supernatural help. “He won the White House against impossible odds,” he said. “I really do believe that there’s divine intervention there.”

His remarks echoed those of devout Trump allies, especially following the failed Pennsylvania assassination attempt in late 2024. Trump himself referenced that harrowing moment during his 2025 inaugural address.

“Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom and, indeed, to take my life,” Trump told the nation. “Just a few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin’s bullet ripped through my ear… I was saved by God to make America great again.”

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick reportedly told Trump afterwards, “God has had his hand on you since you first ran for President… no man could survive all you have been through without the grace of God upon you.”

But many Americans aren’t buying the divine narrative, especially when considering Trump’s own public relationship with religion. The POTUS once famously said, “Why do I have to repent or ask for forgiveness if I am not making mistakes?” and added, “I work hard, I’m an honorable person.”

Still, evangelical leaders have looked past such remarks in favor of what Trump has delivered—namely, Supreme Court picks that led to the reversal of Roe v. Wade and a public war against so-called “anti-Christian” bias.

Online, critics didn’t mince words.

“So much horror was brought into the world by people thinking god was on their side,” one user wrote. Another added bluntly, “What a bunch of crap!”

One post even took it further, declaring: “TRUMP is the Anti-Christ! They wear the MARK OF THE BEAST upon their heads! Revelation 13:16,” alongside a photo of supporters in signature red MAGA caps.

Whether you call it faith or fanaticism, Eric Trump’s holy proclamation has once again turned the internet into a battlefield of biblical proportions.
